Sunday mornings are the calm before the storm. It's always a quiet time, as the world seems to pause for a few hours before religious services or weekend chores. It's a great time to both catch your breath and to get a grip on your plans for the upcoming week.
And it's going to be a very interesting week. The NFL Conference Championship games on Sunday will determine which two teams go on to the Super Bowl. Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, followed on Tuesday by the historic inauguration of our new president.
Add to that some interesting twists and turns and temperature changes in the weather, and the upcoming week is shaping up to be a rather exciting seven days!
But for now, I'll have another cup of my fresh ground Kona and relax. After all, it's Sunday morning!

Simply put....fill up this coffee cup huh? Starting to snow in Houlton Maine and thinking may have to do a little plowing today. You are right about a big, historic week to work around!
Hmmm....not OUR Sunday mornings...we are getting ready for opens, reminding buyers that have expressed an interest in the properties of the times....making sure our offer packages are ready...do we have similar listings in the area...Sundays are Mondays....quiet time...I hope not.
Shucks. I'm recovering this coming week from a hectic hard working week just past. I need to catch up.
We'll have wall-to-wall inauguration this coming week. I think I'll just buy some old movies and write a new web site.
Oh, and add a few miles on the treadmill.
I am with you Richard, an historic week with a small pause on Sunday.
I get to kick off my week today with the girlfriend's birthday. Hope she likes Movado watches....
Andrew...
We need time to reflect ... have another cup and get plowing! Thanks.
S&D...
In our area, we don't do open houses on Sunday ... if we did that really WOULD give us a lot of VERY quiet time for reflection.
And I don't schedule showings on Sunday, just my preference. I FAXED two offers last night, so I got that out of the way Saturday.
What I DO on Sunday is web maintenance ... that can be done while watching the games, and it's critical to lead generation! Thanks for the comment.
Lenn...
I am so far behind on my web work it's not funny ... I have so much web maintenance to do, but all of these buyers have been draining my time!
I wrote two offers yesterday, so it's busy, but I feel that the Internet stuff REALLY needs my attention!
Good post, thanks for the great picture too.
Tom Larsen
Sundays are a great time to recoup, but thats when your busy!! I'd like a few hectic Sundays come my way!
Sundays are busy days -- it is snowing and that means a lot of shoveling today. I am very excited about the coming week! It is going to be historic on many levels. Have a great week.
Gary...
And my Steelers are playing for the right to go to the Super Bowl!
Eric...
I'm certain that she will ... wish her a happy birthday for me!!
Tom...
You're welcome... I try to make Sunday morning posts simple and I hope...elegant!
Chris...
Seems like I'm always busy ... now if I can get them to closing! THX
Joan...
I used to like shoveling snow ... it's great exercise! I actually miss that a little!
Hi Richard, Sundays are also my "calm day", the day I do what I want and relax before the busy weeek ahead. Happy Sunday to you!
I wish they were days for sleeping in but since getting my new kitty he has determined our hour of waking should be 6 am. Which is normally 7:30 during the week and sure as heck not that early on Sundays.
We're moving towards not working at all on Sundays. We definitely need the breather, and the time with God and family.
I have two birthday parties to go to today and showing 3 houses...tried to get meditation time him but the kids kept screaming "Daddy where are you!!!???"
Richard, Not too much relaxing yet as my husband is out plowing another 4-6 inches of snow but we have this afternoon...I'm thinking a glass of wine and definitely the fireplace!
Ok, I did not have a clue that football and the Superbowl were not already over for this season.....is it apparent that I do not watch television?
Richard,
I am so ready for the quiet time today and will be enjoying the football games later today myself. We also have our state association quarterly meetings starting on Wednesday, so my week is full before it starts.........
Enjoy your cup of Kona my friend.
I'm just going to enjoy some quiet and all day football.
Richard,
Sunday's are a great day for taking things a little slower. I like your picture and I love Kona coffee.
Thank you for the post.
Linda...
Mine is "uncalming." I just got a counter offer that is not so good! Happy Sunday.
Heather...
Aw, the cat needs you! That's actually nice in an annoying kind of way!
R&C...
And I think that really is a quality of life issue. THX!
great picture, i am reflecting on my Arizona Cardinals beating the great team from philly , the eagles, -- oh yea, and getting ready for the week :)
Chuck...
Ah, the joys of fatherhood! lol
Barb...
Now that sounds wonderful. Have a great afternoon!
Julie...
If you were from Pittsburgh, you would be a Steelers fan! lol It's part of the culture!
Richard...quiet time is what i need this morning, but it only lasted until 7 when the phone rang. The in-laws live way to close!
Don...
Thanks I will! Enjoy the games, my friend!
Neal...
I love the Conference Championships because there are TWO!
Tony ...
You're most welcome. I buy these HUGE bags of coffee beans at the price club store!
I'm at an open house and with all our snow and cold weather it looks like most of the buyers are staying home with you having another cup of coffee.
Richard: I am so far out of the football loop that I don't even know who was in the playoffs. All I know, without touching a newspaper or looking online, is that the Redskins aren't there. They have been awful since Dan Snyder took them over. I have no love left for them because of that man.
This no time to relax, I'm at work and you should be too. I don't even drink coffee.
Enjoy your day big guy and have a good one.
I love Sunday mornings myself also just for that reason. Sunday is my only day "off", or out of the office I should say. I can totally relate to what you are saying. And I also agree the next couple days will sure be exciting. Go Cardinals!
Coffee is gone and it's time for a Killian's and a sandwich.
Hi Richard. Sunday mornings are for coffee and the paper.
Might be my favorite two hours of the week.
Thanks for writing,
Ken
Well, as we speak, the Eagles are getting their a$$es kicked, but I just watched President Elect Obama give his speech at the Lincoln Memorial and I think it's going to be a glorious week, full of hope. Plus, I have another girls night out tomorrow, which is always fun!
Richard, life keeps moving with many familiar cycles. What amazes me is how fast Christmas keeps coming year after year. A new inaugaration should be a pleasant event for our whole country. Hopefully with fresh leadership we will have some fresh direction.
Hi Richard, Usually our Sunday mornings are calm, but this Sunday morning we were blessed with 2 grandchildren who spent the night last night, Sponge Bob, and Tootie Fruities :-)! It's going to be a great week!!
Richard, I wish I could sit back with a cup of Kona and some stimulating conversation with you. I'm with Sally and David, and Lenn...my life is a treadmill. Get up, get going...one of the bank properties needs something or a buyer is calling about some detail. But, I love it...at least most of the time. Saturday I nearly had a melt-down with too much to do, too little time. But, I get to call my own shots, right? HAHAHA!
Mmmm... what lovely eye candy. Mike and the boys watched football and had a blast. :-)
I am looking forward to a busy week. Catching up on your posts is priority #1.
