Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

Does the stress of everyday life get you down? Chill out and go with the flow!

Roaring Fork by Richard WeisserHave you been a little uptight lately? Is the stress of the current economic cataclysm getting you down? Is the tension mounting every day?

Well, here's some simple advice: Stop worrying about the things that you cannot change. There are immutable forces in the world that are outside our sphere and totally out of our control. There is nothing we can do to have any effect on the powers that be whatsoever.

Sometimes we get so wound up in everything that is happening around us, that we lose track of this simple truth:

We need to focus on the thing s that we CAN control.

We need to sit back, relax, and go with the flow. And then, we can take charge of our own lives!

Sage advice Richard.

I've always suggested to the "worriers" around me that "if you have no control over a situation, don't spend the energy worrying about it".

That doesn't mean that we should be complacent about events that may affect our lives.  We should act to make the best of what we can with what we have.  However, worrying just doesn't change anything.

Hey, that is one way to approach the stress of life. Very fitting.

Lenn...

I got a little wound up yesterday, and apparently I went a little too far. So I am taking my own advice now and chilling out! Thanks, as always for the nice comment.

Actually, I was on the edge yesterday, and I was going through my photos and this theme just jumped out at me! Thanks for the comment.

Richard - all sound advice, but sometimes it takes a bit of contemplation to understand what is really stressing you out before you can take steps to overcome it.

Going with the flow is a skill.  Not all of us possess it.  Good reminder that we need to focus on what we can change in our life.

After an evening of studying, full night of rest, buffet style break fast and pat on the butt I think they are ready.  My point is- preparation and taking care of yourself is key.

Richard:  That's right.  The most important real estate is what is between our ears.  If we can focus positive efforts on the things we can control, the effects of the things we can't probably won't be so bad.

Good advice Richard.  The beginning of this post reminded me a Soupy Sales, an afternoon kids (?) program I loved growing up!  Thanks for the memories!

Sit back, take a deep breath and exhale real slow.  Then smile and relax a bit.  Thanks for the words of wisdom my friend.

There is no reson to stress over things you can't control.  It is a waste of time and energy.

Focus on producing in your life and business.

Hi Richard, I always remind myself that worrying is a useless waste of energy, and try to redirect that energy into the things I do have control over. Good post. Go with the flow--- and sometimes duck when the waves get too big :-)

I felt like this yestereday AM and then took a break and ran to Walmart and got over it.  Sometimes the tasks in front of you seem daunting but if you break them down & go with the flow it can all run smoothly, hopefully! KM

Richard, you are right.  There is so much about what is going on that we can't control, it's best to concentrate on positive things, and fixing negatives things in our control...  xxoo

If we would concentrate on things we can change, some of the other things would not be so important!

Today, I'm not stressed, just sick with a stomach virus.  I agree with your statement, "Stop worrying about the things that you cannot change."  We have to go with the flow...

I worry far more about what movie I want to watch next that I do about the major issues with today. At least I can decide what movie I want to see. Worry changes nothing but your life expectancy.

Brother Richard - Well said.  When I need to slow down, I may just have to come back here, re-read the post and stare at the photo.  A little water is always soothing and can calm you down and let you re-focus on the right track.

Winter is quite stress free. During the summer I have to worry about missed 3 foot putts and drives that end up in the water. Not for a few more months just keep the snow off the steps.

I try and find solutions and not dwell on the problem. The problem exists nothing you can do but try and fix it. Great inspiration!
