Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind. The answer is blowing in the wind.

Flags in the windBob Dylan suggested in lyric that some inexplicable actions of people and society had no real explanation, they just continued to happen.

Every day people rant and rave about issues that are out of their control, and yet they get agitated to the point of having a heart attack. With the elections drawing near, some become so passionate about their candidates that they will spend countless hours agonizing over the possible outcome of the contest.

Many worry about the economy, and wonder why the government is bailing out huge corporations but casting individuals aside like yesterday's garbage. They want answers, and yet none are forthcoming.

There is concern over continued military actions in foreign lands. People are consumed by the staunch stance of intervention, and many ponder the necessity of such an expensive commitment, both in lives and money.

There are those that are puzzled by the lack of availability of gasoline, and can't imagine why this situation is not being treated as an emergency or national disaster. Gasoline is the lifeblood of economic communities, yet it is only being treated only as an inconvenience.

So my suggested solution is this: Whenever you find yourself succumbing to the internal pressure cooker percolating within your being, rather than lash out or rend your garments, offer this phrase over and over until the pain goes away:

The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind. The answer is blowing in the wind. (Bob Dylan)

Your post brings to mind another Bob Dylan song.. "The Times They Are A-Changing" "gather round people"... yep..and the next weeks will be rocky but we will survive.

Gail...

I actually had the opportunity to play "The Times They Are A-Changing" last week at my guitar soiree with some other local musicians. It's one of my all time favorites!

Posted by Richard Weisser Coweta Fayette Real Estate over 3 years ago

I don't know if that was Dylan's original message -- but it's an interesting thought. ~ Evelyn

Richard when you played that song did you think it could be written for today just as easily as when it was back in the 60's?  Reminding us that the world and events cycle.

Evelyn...

I just HAD to use that photo ... that was the basis for the post!

Gail...

True...

But now I'm on the 'establishment" side ...Come mothers and fathers throughout the land, and don't criticise what you can't understand...

I don't know.  I seem to recall that the "answer" for good old Bob Dylan was a tad more than song or "bloging in the wind".

Very true Richard.  If many of those same people wuold do something about what they can contol, their life would be a lot more enjoyable

Richard - reminds me of another song, written by Donavan but my favorite version is Dylan's "Catch the Wind".

Its a scary time for most Americans. I fear for our future but I dont moan and fuss about it. I get up and do the best I can. All I can do!

Lenn...

I read somewhere (don't know if it's true) that when Mr. Dylan met the Beatles he introduced them to a new kind of herbal consciousness! He said that he liked their song that went "I get high, I get high, I get high!" The lyric was actually "I can't hide!"

Bill...

I know for a fact that I need an occasional "Chill Pill!"

Mike...

That's one of my favorites by Donovan, rejuvenated recently in a commercial!

Richard-You have certainly been a busy fellow. 3 blogs since 10 p.m. last night. Wow!!!! Awesome job on all three. I love that song. I agree with you on all 3. The post regarding the points just for comments.  I think if I just commented for the points I could count a couple of my comments as a lot more than 25 pts ea as, I can get pretty long winded on my comments as you have found out and also on  Gary W's. I enjoying commenting on the regulars such as yours and some others and then I'm like a guy and surf, only without the remote control and when someone's post catches my eye I read it and comment because I enjoyed what they had to say.  That's how I found yours about the late night trip you took to your mother-in laws.(by surfing) I've never tried to figure it out so mathematically speaking about my comment points or the others maybe because I didn't know how. Must be I'm too new to know how or just never thought about it. I do know I've made more comments than I've received comments but maybe when I do more blogging like my fav's do then I'll end up with more comments. Time will tell.  Regardless I'm enjoying it here in the rain. Well do you think this comments is good for 25 pts. LOL. Keep blogging, keep smiling and above all keep the faith.

I agree with Laura. I all you can do is your best and hope like hell that the powers that be listen to the people instead of the businesses.

Times are changing. I realized it on a personal note, when at the grocery store last night I noticed the MUZAK. It was the B52's singing "Rock Lobster". My how times have changed.

Richard, nice mantram. Should I assume lotus position also? Ha ha, actually meditation is something we should all practice more often. It makes lifes little unanswered question and ensuing troubles melt away. Imagine the amount of lives saved if people just learned how to relax a little. See, I think the biggest trgedy and epidemic in society today is how we let stress destroy our lives. Relax folks, relax!

Thanks for the thoughful post

That's all we can do, isn't it?

Pat...

All of YOUR comments are worth a hundred points! Sorry about the prolific posting but I made a commitment of 500 good posts by the end of the year. I have 95 days and 135 posts to go, so I have to keep moving! Thanks, as always!

Betina...

Rock Lobster on the Muzak ... now that is hilarious! What's next, The Love Shack?

Bo...

I know that it had a terrible effect on me, and I just had to back off! Thanks, my friend.

I realized last week the economy was literally making me 'ill'.  I turned off the news and took a breath.  Feeling a whole lot better now.  Largely, there is nothing I can do so I have to let it blow in the wind.

Richard, The answer really is blowing in the wind. Alas, that wind is coming from Washington, DC. Good reminder though to worry about things you can control.

Hi Richard.  The flag theme!  You are correct sir.  Many things are out of our control.  Very liberating.

Thanks for writing,

Richard-That's a great goal. I have a slightly different goal but probably just as challenging with school.work and AR and part of it is blogging more, don't think I'll make the 500 mark though. I could set a goal of finding 500 different folks to comment on that I never have before(not just for the 25 points though) and then I could update that friends list by years end. Now that in itself would be a challenge with everything I have tp learn yet. Definitely need a system, that is the other part of my goal. BTW-Thank you for the compliment about my comments. I appreciate that because I always put quite a bit of thought in to each comment. I got a nice surprise from Jason Crouch yesterday as I'd heard a lot about him thru reading other folks comments so I subscribed to his blog and commented for the first time on his 600 posts blog (he had commented on my friends blog)Apparently he was impressed enough with my comment that he immediately added me as an associate because he liked it so much. WOW! That was a nice boost. I read a post recently about what those actually were so if it's OK with you I'll be adding you as an associate shortly as I've been subscribed to your blog and I appreciate the fact that you subscribed to mine and always are a fast responder when I do blog. Keep up the great blogging . I have faith in you. I'll be reading and commenting on everyone with careful thought as they are definitely worth the time in doing so. Keep smiling and Keep the faith. READY, SET, BLOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a nice idea but so hard to just let things go especially if we think there's a chance to do something to change things.

Richard I...

"Come senators and congressmen please heed the call..." Yes, it is an ILL wind blowing out of D.C.

Kristin...

At least we can avoid a nervous breakdown, we only have control over ourselves.

Ken...

I just REALLY like that photo! Thanks.

Pat...

Of course it's all right! What makes AR so powerful is the ability to network with others! Another cool thing is the staff here is VERY approachable. we are really one big mostly happy family!

Richard-This reminds me of an Attorney we have here that if you mention politics to him, he gets himself in a rage. He will hit the table, shout, curse and turn red in the face. He is a sight to see when you start talking politics to him. The agents around here have learned not to mention any thing about politics to him or cruelty to animals.

Posted by Laura Watts (Positive Properties, LLC) over 3 years ago

Richard, I'm doing everything possible to stay off the subject of politics this season.  A good friend and I get into a discussion on the state of the world just about every day and I swear he's going to blow a gasket.  Me, I just have a drink and wish for a candidate that wasn't the lesser of two evils. I think we're both screwed. haha

I learned a long time ago that if I want to worry about something, it will be what I plan to have for dinner or the next movie I would like to see at some point. The bigger issues in life have a way of working themselves out.
