Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

Are you leading a charmed life? Why not put it to the test?

CharmDoes everything seem to go you way? Have you been the beneficiary of years of good fortune and have you always been in the right place at the right time?

Well, good you for! That's just grand. But for a lot of us, kismet is not part of either our business plan or our life's direction. We don't rely on the fates to blow the winds of providence in our direction.

Rather, we roll up our sleeves, get to work, and take matters into our own hands. Why would we sit idly by and wait for something good to happen when we can simply grab the bull by the horns and take charge of our own destinies.

Most states sell dreams every day. They offer lottery tickets with promises of instant financial gratification. A few people have won millions of dollars, it's true, but millions have won a few dollars, and even millions more have lost a significant amount of money.

If you really feel like the lottery is the way to go, try this simple test. Go to the Georgia Lottery Winning Numbers search page, select Mega Millions and enter your regular numbers. You will be shocked at how many times NO numbers match, and how few times even ONE number matches, ever more rarely TWO numbers match. It's remarkable to actually check the odds versus actual history, and doing this made me swear off the game forever!

So go ahead and leave for future to chance. As for me, I guess I'll just get back to work!

I have always felt I do have a charmed life, BUT I also have an incredible work ethic. Somehow, I think it is my hard work (and positive outlook) that has lead to my charmed life!  ;-)

Richard,

Charmed?  Maybe.  Life is what you make of it and since we are here only a finite number of days, we need to make the most of it.  Smile, open a door, say something kind, etc.  You never know how your kindness will impact another person's life.

And I do not like TESTS!  lol

Richard, I have always believed that hard work and consistent (and persistent) effort will win over luck everyday.  The only charm I have is my own Irish derived kind ;)

At any given moment I may feel differently about how 'charmed' my life is.  Through inspection I am embarrassed to say I get a 'poor pitiful me' attitude at times.  Thanks for posting.

When I talk about being lucky, my mother replies, "Funny:  the harder you work the luckier you get!"

I know I live a charmed life.  But my secret is to surround myself with a loving, supportive, spouse, family and friends, work hard, give back even more love than I get, make the right decisions, have no regrets and never look back.  Works for me!

I rarely play the lotto, but every now and again dreaming is worth a few dollars.  Ok, time to get back to work - I'm not feeling too charmed these days!

Richard...the harder I work, the more charmed my life gets.  As for the lottery, I will be struck by lightening before I ever win more than 5 dollars!

Well stated Richard.....besides the fact that work is the stuff of character building, it is how we truly bring some quatifiable value to our lives and the of people around us. There is no such thing as something for nothing, whether it be  emotional or physical, we all pay a price.

Nice post

Ahh the charmed life. I guess that depends on how you define a "charmed life" My whole family has always told me that I have the princess syndrome and I always get everything I want. I've tried to explain it's all about setting goals and working really hard to achieve them oh and don't forget making some good choices along the way. I truly believe that my life is charmed but I worked for it....nothing came for free!

Hello Richard! My husbands aunt won the IL state lottery some years ago. 2 weeks after winning she won $600 on a scratch it. Can you believe that? I win things like "free business cards if you buy our notepads!"

Richard - still with the butterfly theme it appears, at least in pictures. While kismet is not part of my planning, I do believe it happens sometimes. Call it serendipity if you will. My keeshond was named Kismet because of the wierd string of circumstances in finding her.

But, yes, I do plan, I don't sit and wait for good things to happen, I try to go out and create them.

Thought provoking again, as usual.

Richard:  I'm right there with you....working away, every day.  I would be a terrible lottery winner anyway.  I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I didn't work!

Richard,

It is so true you are remembered for being kind and if you are not kind or at least civil, they remember forever!  And tell everyone, at least I do.  Customer service extends to all aspects of life.

So Smile and have a dandy day,

Susan...

I have heard that it pays to hedge your bets! Thanks.

Ann...

Great inspirational thoughts. I really appreciate the comment!

That's a thought provoking post Richard.  I believe I do live a "charmed" life.  Through good and bad.  Sometimes more bad rolls around than good, but I think it is really more often all good.  I also believe in bringing to you what you think of - so think good thoughts!!

And I like dreaming about the Lottery, so I play.  Although I have really cut back on playing this year... sign of the  times  economy.
