For those of you that have been following my posts, you know that Peyton is a cute little kitten that we adopted from the Coweta County Animal Shelter less than twelve hours before he was scheduled to be euthanized.
You can read about the adoption here: A life saved ... Just in the nick of time!
Well, Peyton is growing up to be a big boy now, and with all of that kitten energy bottled up inside him, we had to come up with an outlet for his limitless energy.
So we enrolled him in a local Martial Arts School to study CuteKitsu. His instructor, Chairman Meow, says he is a great student that is willing to put in the time and effort needed to earn his coveted belt.
Peyton seems to be enjoying his newly learned skills, but it's been a bit disconcerting here at home. He keeps doing "the Stork" and "the Serpent" and he is confusing our other cat, LeMieux.
All in all, Peyton is alive and well and thriving, and we sure are glad that he is sharing our humble home.
If you have room in your heart and your home, why not adopt a needy pet? It's a win-win for all!

Oh how sweet!! I have had cats all of my life and until JJ, my puppy, I thought they were the cutest things in the world, next to human babies. Now I think they are tied in the cute department! We got our cat at the local pound too. xxoo
Richard, is he a black belt yet? You'll never need a big dog to guard your house.
Susan...
Thanks for the comment! I saw JJ's pic in you post and he is a cutie-pie for sure!
Hey Richard...Loved this post. "You" actually gave me a chuckle. Thanks!!
Richard, I am glad to see he, Peyton, has an outlet for his pent up energy and he is such a handsome dude too.
Gary, You forget sir that Richards title is the ENFORCER so I am not so sure he will need a big dog to guard the house. I could be wrong tho.
Gary...
Now you know it will take six months for Peyton to get a Black Belt! ;)
Bill...
I thought the picture was funny, and wanted a good story to go with it! Thanks.
Don...
I am the Enforcer my friend, now get some sleep! Thanks.
TOO cute...great pic and your story definitely gave me a chuckle.
Have you thought about writing children's books, accompanied by your fabulous pix? I say children's books because I think your imagination and knack for storytelling would be well served there...who knows, the adventures of Peyton could be the next Harry Potter series!
Too cute. Animals hold a soft spot in my heart and seeing this one and hearing the story of how you made your home his is so very heartwarming.
Richard - I can see it now, Kung Fu Kitten (forget about that panda dude). David Spade doing the voice over, or maybe Arnold "the kittennater" Schwartznegger
Richard: Peyton sounds like he is hours of amusement. When I first got cats I never thought I would be ablet to spend so much time just watching them. Great photo!
Richard, love the photograph. I've got two cats myself, but they are old and lazy compared to Peyton. :)
Susan...
Never thought about children's books ... now there's an idea! Thanks.
Martha...
Well, Peyton has brought of joy into our lives. It's almost as if he knew how close he came to not being here at all. Thank you.
Mike...
Hah ...Awww - naaald would be perfect! THX.
Chris Ann...
He is quite inscrutable, and a lot of fun! Thanks.
Kristina...
Peyton will get lazy soon enough ... you know what's in store for him! lol and thank you!
AAAAWWWWW Peyton is just growing and he is 2 cute!! My cat jumped on my head in the middle of the night last night. coming down from the open window above me. Do you think that move was in a class he took? Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon style....卧虎藏龙.
