Every Fourth of July, Peachtree City Georgia offers one of the finest small town municipal fireworks display in the region. In addition to providing a great holiday program for residents, it attracts many visitors to Peachtree City from neighboring cities and counties.
The city provides excellent crowd and traffic control, and many residents use eco-friendly electric golf carts to get to a vantage point for the show. It is a holiday ritual that has been ongoing for many years.
The 2008 fireworks did not disappoint the throng of onlookers. Many of whom had staked out their spot hours before showtime. As soon as it was dark, the mortars fired the rounds skyward to transform into magnificent bursts of colors and sounds. The whizzing, whirling, whistling, booming rockets exploded into lacey flowers, spinning discs, feathery trees and popping spheres.
After the grand finale, a round of applause heard all over the landscape indicated that everyone thought the production had succeeded in pleasing all of the senses, and was a fitting tribute for our nation's birthday.

Indeed they are. I missed most of the show trying to get decent shots with way too slow of a lens!
I missed all the fireworks displays this year, but I did manage to put on a show of my own at my wife's annual 4th of July party.
