Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

Do you ever choose to take the “scenic" route?

Do you ever choose to take the “scenic" route? Along the byways far from town,
Away from mob and traffic sounds.
Serene and cloistered hamlets wait
For those that forgo the interstate!
                     (R Weisser 2012)

In the real estate business, it is hard to get away for more than a day or two. As a matter of fact, I haven’t had a day off in 2012 yet.

So instead of thinking of “getting away” in terms of weeks, days, or even hours, I often take breaks that may last only minutes, but provide an enduring legacy to my photo archives.

Do you ever choose to take the “scenic" route? Yes, we are pressed for time, and there is precious little extra for the extravagance of leisure.

But there are places near our homes and places of work that are worthy of meriting a little detour every now and then.

It may takes a few extra minutes and a couple of dollar’s worth of fuel, but the rewards far exceed the investment in time and money.

Robert Frost was correct. There is something about the “road less traveled!”

And again, both your poetry and photography are worth the visit.  Sometimes, Richard, your posts are my scenic route on AR.

Such a nice weaving together of this thought and real estate.  Richard, you are the master of this.  Nice!

Whenever I can I really enjoy the scenic route.  We, as I guess many places do, have so many small, older towns full of charm and beauty.  Taking the scenic route in life can be relaxing instead of stressful.  Thanks for sharing your beautiful and tranquil pictures.

We all need to find a little time to "escape".

Richard I take scenic routes as often as possible - which is often. There are such pretty sites to see and it doesn't take that much longer. Somehow I feel refreshed when I arrive as well.

Richard...more often than not my wife and I take the path less driven.  Many very nice surprises we have found.

It's the BEST way to get to know your territory. Thanks.

Richard -  We take the scenic route as much as possible.  When one lives in the city it's such a breath of fresh air for both body and soul.  We laugh as we count Jack Rabbits instead of love bug aka VW cars :)  Have a great day in all you do!

Yes and I hope I have my camera with me as one never knows what they will find. So many of the scenic roads are disappearing in my area that I cherish the ones remaining. Your photos are perfect examples of the serenity.

Just did this last evening. There are so many "roads less traveled" in our area and they provide the most serene and peaceful drive you could hope for.

Hi Richard, Beautifully done and I love the message. I was meeting a carpet installer today on an upcooming listing. A freindly women was out walking her dog , we introoduced ourselves ( she said she already knew me from my work in the neiighboorhood) and we tallked for about 20 miuntes while I waited for the installer to arriive. We were talking about our cameras and the beauty of where we live and it turns out she is also an amateur photograher and we are going to do some things together. She said that everytime she sees one of my listings she can't wait to see the photos on line. I told her about the blog and she asked if she could become a subscriber. When you capture magic as you so often do, seeing the captures of the beauty of life all around us makes our lives more complete. We also feel good and whenever and wherever we can do this, the more will see what is riight there . I think photographers can serve this wider purpose and you are an excellent example of one who does.

Actuall Richard i do often take the scenic rouote. I would even do a train ride in place of a plane ride where feasible. Your pictures alone should sell everybody to take the scenic route
