Instant gratification v. long term success in marketing.

Instant gratification v. long term success in marketing.A successful business advertising campaign is NOT akin to winning a lottery. Rarely is any endeavor likely to take on a life of its own without proper promotion or marketing.

And as any marketing consultant will tell you, it takes consistent advertising over a period of time to achieve significant results.

There is neither sorcery nor magic that will override this basic tenet. It can take months or even years to see significant results from an advertising campaign.

That makes it very easy to give up on promotional efforts that may actually be establishing a foothold in the marketplace. Many, many time the plug is pulled just before pay-dirt is discovered!

Consistency over time is the key to marketing success.

Instant gratification is best left to playing the lottery!

Absolutely, I am finding this with all of my marketing strategies. Consistant message seems to be the key. Thanks for  the great reminder.

Good morning Richard,

Suggested! Consistency in all marketing is the key to success. So many expect instant gratification..not going to happen..all things good take time :).

I market both.  Some for today and others for a longer term for not everyone is ready to buy or sell today.

Same as it ever was! Thanks.

Especially when it comes to blogging. They write three or four and then quit. Thanks so much.

Bill...

But you do SOMETHING every day and that is the key! Thanks.

John...

Thank you so much for your continued support. I appreciate it more than you will ever know!

Richard, Our monthly newsletters to past Expireds is still a slow but steady source of business.  It often takes years to payoff (we've had some calls 4-5 years after the start of the campaign), but it works.

Hi Richard. I am a big believer in consistency over time... Too many agents look for the quick fix... Thanks for writing, Ken

Yep and it really is that simple of a concept!  Love the picture of the old Coke sign.

Good morning Richard,

And the perfect example of that is the companies that keep marketing over and over, even though they are ingrained in our brain already. (Coke, Mcdonalds)

In advertising, we used to say "Tell it, tell it again, and tell it again."

It's repetition, repetition, repetition. Much like what we say about real estate: location, location, location :)
