Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

Sometimes it’s not the big things in life that affect us the most …often it’s the “tweaks!”

Starting clean and freshI just got my favorite computer up and running again after a catastrophic hard drive crash. It wasn’t that big of a deal, it took five minutes to install a new drive.

Restoring the system took a few hours, and installing the backups was time consuming. And I elected to start “clean” with many of the applications.

So everything is ALMOST just the way it was. Everything is present and accounted for, but a lot of my tweaks and fine-tuning efforts will have to be readjusted over time.

Sometimes however, it IS the little things in life that make the difference. Nuance is personal and comforting, like an old leather wallet that is bursting at the seams but predictable because you know where everything is!

It will take some time to morph from the antiseptic sterility of the clean install to the reassuring comfort of the old “leather wallet.”

But I finally did get rid of some of those old receipts!

You are so right Richard. It's the little foxes that spoil the vine and we need to make those little tweaks in our life to get us up and running to full capacity.

Glad you are up and running.  We do get comfortable with how well oiled we have our systems, ways, etc.  Inconveniences are an eye opener .. just a reminder that we need to tweak and sometimes just deal at what is thrown our way.

Hi Richard - glad it worked out.  Best, Gay

Richard: Change is good but it does take us time to adjust and settle in to the differences. It looks like you are recovering well from a crash. I have to get someone to do the things you did when my computer crashes.

Good morning, Richard.....I love to start fresh and new with a system.....I just bought two new laptops and I love the fact that everything is saved on memory sticks.....no clutter within.....it's organized much better.

Richard, I can relate to this post, many times over! I am glad you fixed your old friend, and am certain that within a short period of time you will feel comfortable again. I could just cry when an old friend is sick.... and in need of surgery....

My friend the hardest thing for me to do is get a NEW wallet.  I would rather give my right arm than get a new wallet.  Well maybe not my right arm but you get the picture.

Glad to hear you are back up and running.  I need a new computer badly and am so fearful this one will crash before I finally bite the bullet and get that new one.

Computer crashes, like automobile break downs mess up the routine. Glad to hear yours is back in operation.

Richard, I am glad you got your online life in order. It amazes me every time how dependent we are on these gadgets.

Richard, It's that setting back up that has made me apprehensive about getting that new laptop.  Installing all the apps, finding out which ones can and can't make the jump from XP to 7 :)  I'll need to set aside the better part of a weekend to make it happen to get all those nuances right where we want them!

Sometimes that new and fresh install is just the thing needed to clean up those old files that are no longer needed.

First the Flu then the hard drive ~ I think I would rather have the flu ~ things still aren't the same since I had my hard drive replaced ~ still tweaking...

Richard you must have given your computer the flu.  Getting a computer back to the way it was is like breaking in a new pair of shoes...you have to keep pulling up the socks until then are all worn in.

Great shot,

It's like getting your car back from the body shop. Nothing new done but fix the damage but it's yours

quirks and all

Enjoy the day

I have my new one picked out, just need to go get it.  Working on a lap top all the time just doesn't cut it for me.

New shoes may have better traction, no leaks and can be much warmer, but there is nothing like a comfortable pair that fits perfect.
