Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

Snow on Christmas Day in Newnan Georgia? Yes it is!!!

Christmas Day snow in Coweta County GAThe much anticipated Christmas Day snow that was predicted for Newnan Georgia is here at last!

I have lived in the area for nearly forty years and this is the first “White Christmas” we have ever experienced.

It’s even stranger because a lot of my friends in the Northeast have told me that there is no snow on the ground in many places.

I guess it’s a numbers game. It does occasionally snow in Georgia, so it was just a matter of time before it happened on Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all!

Snow began to fall today about 10:00 a.m. here.

We got about 1/4 inch.

That just enough.

Isn't that great? We had snow this morning too but we were just recovering from an earlier Dec. snowstorm with ice. This is unusual for us to have all this before Christmas.

And Richard, How special is that?  Get out there and enjoy every second of it because you know it may be a once in a lifetime thing.  Make a snowman, have a snowball battle, make snow angels and snow cream.  Savor every second.

Happy New Year!

BTW - Great Photo!

Congradulations Richard! being a native Vermonter (now living in the Florida Keys) I am sure that I don't appreciate it (shoveling it for years) nearly as much as you; but I will say that snow can be pretty cool (no pun intended) especially if you have never experienced it. I just prefer to experience it on my terms now!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Ironic. We got nothing here in my part of New York, but it is expected later- after the charm is gone.

Richard, Merry Christmas, what a wonderful scene that is! I am waiting, we are supposed to get hit hard tomorrow. I have no plans to leave the house anyway as I am in the middle of a merry Christmas bug. But perhaps might get a few great photos, who knows.

I hope you had a wonderful day dear friend!

I would've loved to have seen more than the flurries we saw today.  I understand tomorrow we'll get some substantial snow.

We are looking at 12 to 16" here on Long Island. I love snow. Love playing with my dog in it since she loves it more than me, lol.

You lucky dog Richard! I hope you got lots and lots of snow and that it stuck to the ground so you could build a snowman!
