Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

I’m a bit “under the weather,” and I feel guilty about it.

Sunrise on a rainy morningI have to admit that I am not operating at 100% this weekend. I have contracted a little bug that is going around and it really has me dragging.

And although common sense tells me that if I am sick, I need to get well, I can’t help but think that I am “giving in” to the malady by throttling back on my normally ambitious workload.

So I will relegate myself to more sedentary activities for a day or two. One of the best things about online marketing is that you can do it from the comforts of home.  I need to do some web updates and I have a lot of photos that I need to add into my stock inventory.

I can’t help but feel guilty about not being able to get more done. That darned old work ethic keeps badgering me to “get up and get going!”

But my “get up and go” had “got up and went!”

I do the same thing when I don't feel well.  I have worked from the hospital!  I hope you find the time to get a little rest and feel better.....without guilt!

Take care of yourself.  Everything else can wait.  Feeling ill gives us much more appreciation for all the days we take for granted.  Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Richard....I work from home often....it's where ever I feel like being that day.....the best part of online marketing is that it CAN  be done from anywhere.....relax and enjoy the time at home....nap later this morning....it's football Sunday.

It is good to listen to our bodies and slow down when we need to. Here in AZ in cold and sor throat thing has been going around even though it is still over 100 degrees outside.

Hi Richard ~ hope you enjoy the needed rest, and that you recover quickly.   Work is fun, so you don't want to miss any more than you should!

That get up and go attitude will get you through anything.  Thank you for your message.  I am doing fantastic and appreciate you taking the time to inquire.  Do remember to listen to your body and take care of yourself when you need to - guilt free! :)

I imagine you are the type, just like me, that will never retire.  I love to work.  I've been working since I was fifteen and haven't stopped once, not even during college.  Hope you feel better soon.

I totally understand what you mean!  My daughter has been under the weather this weekend, and even though she's 15... she's wanted me to "sit" with her, or rub her feet, or generally just be next to her.  I want to be a good mom, and I am... but I feel guilty about not getting other things done I'd planned to accomplish!

Well I went to one of those clinics in the drug store, and was pleased that I was able to get in and get out with a prescription in less than an hour round trip.

It was a pleasant experience and hopefully now I'll get well sooner! Thanks for all of your best wishes.

Richard, well, I know how this goes. In the early part of the year I was down for almost a week, no choice. I tried so hard to get up and go, but there was no way. I felt guilty, etc. Like you, I decided to work on all my online "stuff" and even put up a new website during that time. So all in all, even with a few days down doing NOTHING, I was very productive at the end of the day.

Feel better!

Bill's home remedy...

5 ounces of Whiskey, 8 ounces of water, 2 teaspoons of sugar, 2 teaspoons of honey.  Heat until hot like coffee.

The first one will clear your head.  The second one will cleat up your chest congestion.

And by the fourth one you won't care if you are seck or not!

Richard:

I don't know if you want to take Bill's advice - you would definitely not get any work done. But it might be relaxing.

I certainly hope you are feeling much better today.
