Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

I tried this thing called “sleep” last night and I must say that I enjoyed it!

Sleeping during the night is refreshingI once read that the famous inventor, Thomas Alva Edison, never slept during the night. Instead his days were punctuated by intermittent catnaps as time allowed. I admire Mr. Edison very much, and I guess for some time I have tried to emulate his sleeping behavior!

But last night I dozed off as usual, in my recliner with my computer on my lap. When I awoke, it was well after midnight so I decided to actually attempt getting some real sleep for a change.

It was actually quite nice and very refreshing. And although I had a little trouble “getting up” this morning, I might try getting an entire night’s sleep again at some point in the future.

That is … as soon as I can find the time!

Richard:

Sleep is so essential,-- I marvel at the fact that you can survive on so little.

Richard, I'm glad you got some good shut eye last night.  I couldn't sleep at all last night...pulled an all nighter and need to show homes this morning....hello caffeine!  lol!

All the best!

It is always amazing hearing stories of those that can live on very little sleep.    I need 7+ hours!

I'm a huge grouch if I don't get enough sleep, and I tend to have trouble focusing. I don't know how you and others do it!

I actually enoy sleeping a full night and getting up early. I'm so much more productive the next day.

Richard, I find it hard to fit sleep into my schedule too.  Last night I dragged my backside to bed about 1am and the alarm went off at 7.  I find it hard to sleep with so many ideas racing through my head.  When I do sleep it isn't always restful  but when it is, boy is it nice.  Have a great day!!

8 hours a night...whoa...look at the real estate work, family time if they did not have to sleep too. Had a buyer that said "I'll sleep when I am dead".

I wish I could sleep for a long period like I did years ago. I am lucky to make it six hours! But, I usually wake up in a good mood!

With the storm the night before last my house didn't sleep. Last night it didn't matter...we were all out by 10:00. It did make it difficult to get going this morning but I think I'm going to have to try it again...

I think that sleep is highly overrated but I do try to get at least 5 hours a night.

Sometimes our bodies get into cycles we don't comprehend, nor have time for. Just roll with it, or roll over with it.

And I thought it was just me who didn't sleep much. I really appreciate a 7- or 8-hour night!

Skipping a night sleep was not a problem when I was younger but I don't think I could make it through the day if I tried it now.

I don't get the whole, I don't need sleep thing.  You are human, you do need sleep, it is the time that your body repairs itself, rids itself of toxins & stress, sleep fights aging and disease...Perhaps if you are not sleeping well regularly, you should find out why.

I find that I am much more capable of dealing with the day to day tasks and stresses if I am well rested.  When you are tired, everything seems so much bigger and out of control.

Like you Richard, I don't sleep well either. I've tried everything from pills to natural remedies. I found that the thing that works best for me is to watch C-Span at a very low volume.

I have the same nasty habit of falling asleep on the sofa.  It's like an intermediate sleep step.  I can't just go to the bedroom, lie in bed and fall asleep.  I will toss and turn.

I envy you a full night's sleep...I'm lucky if I can get 4-5 hours at one time...I have tried everything.

I sleep when my body tells me I need it. Doesn't matter what time of day or night it is. Now that I'm on AR, I have something to do when it's 2AM and I'm completely awake.

I am up at 6:30 and to work by 7:30. Leave work at 5:30 home by 6PM and asleep by 6:45. I sleep for two hours if there is no interruption and wake up until 1 or 2 a.m.

I usually need a 2 P.M. nap on weekend. I know I need more sleep and I am trying to change my sleeping habits.

Coming to you from Texas...

I am very surprised to learn that I am not alone in my abstinence from sleep. I guess that's it's part and parcel of being a real estate agent these days!

Posted by Richard Weisser Coweta Fayette Real Estate about 1 month ago

Sleep is over rated. I used to go on 4-5 hours a night and I felt great.  I now get 6+ and am tired all the time.  I am woring at getting back to where I felt good!   I did the catnap thing also...worked well for years.
