The 2010 Memorial Day activities in Senoia Georgia were deemed a rousing success by those that attended. The crowds were large, as Mother Nature allowed a break from the rain for just the right amount of time to complete the schedule of events.
The main event was the Memorial Day parade, which was a compilation of veterans from many wars, vintage and contemporary military equipment, local veteran’s organizations and even an Army band!
Also in the parade were local civic organizations and clubs, and the mood was festive with plenty of flag waving and applause.
Just after the parade, at exactly 3:00 P.M., the attendees participated in the national moment of remembrance, followed by the blasts of a military salute and the playing of “Taps” by a lone bugler.
Kudos to the citizens of Senoia for their participation in this fine tribute to both our fallen heroes., and to those currently serving.
It was indeed a day to remember!

Richard - What a wonderful tribute by everyone in Senoia Georgia in attending the parade and activities in remembrance and honor of our fallen heroes and to support everyone who is now serving and may be in harm's way. May God keep them safe and bring them home soon.
Richard, what a lovely celebration! Your pictures make me feel as if I were there!
Nice to see a community take Memorial Day as a serious holiday - not just a day for cookouts. Nice photos, as usual.
Richard - Thank you for Americana at it's best. Today was not about a day-off or a hot dog. It is set for rememberance of the fallen. Love this post
Richard...looks like a great turn out. Nothing better than supporting our fighting pesonel.
Richard, there is nothing quite like Memorial Day, the parades, the rousing sentiment, the camaraderie. Your photos are wonderful!
You brought some of your Memorial Day on that side of the nation across the miles and Pacific Ocean to share....I loved the photos and your enthusiasm to support those that are fighting for our country.
Richard....very nice photos.....I love watching parades on Memorial Day......it makes me cry to see the soldiers marching by.....believe me, I did a lot of crying this weekend....
Nice photos Richard. This was the first year that I did not attend any festivities. I just hung with a few close friends and chilled...
Helping you help others live their American dream...
Richard, those are great pictures and happy to see the participation of the people.
Looks like a wonderful parade in honor of those that served and paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Good morning Richard,
What a fabulous celebration. Your photos are great and really gave us a feel for the events of your day! What a parade!!
Hi Richard, nicely done. Memorial Day parades were so big back east where I grew up. I always enjoyed them as a kid and as a young adult, was a percussionist for a band appearing in them. We had our big ceremony at our Rosecrans National Cemetery. I went the day before Memorial Day to photo capture the amazing number of flags and colorful floral tributes.
