Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

The music of the morning, it’s always there but you have to tune in to listen to it!

Carolina titmouse at the feederIn the warmer months, I spend my morning time on the back deck, catching up on emails and writing blog posts. And although it is considered to be a “quiet” time of day, there is a daily symphony that is available for those that choose to listen.

The performance is courtesy of the vast variety of indigenous songbirds that have commenced their daily concert performances. And the music is incredible!

The twittering of the chickadees and titmice are accompanied in harmony by the cardinals and finches. The soprano section is often punctuated by the mysterious deep call of a pileated woodpecker or the honking of Canadian geese.

The haunting call of the mourning dove (yes it is “mourning” and not “morning”) adds an underlying somberness to the cacophony.

It is a pleasant reminder that there is a real world beyond the frame of my LCD. And it is there each and every single day.

But it’s up to me to take advantage of it!

It is great you have the quiet environment to listen. Actually I think most of us miss the symphony because we choose not to listen. Enjoy!

I live near the beach and our weather is warmer a little longer than a lot of places.  Not so quiet time on my deck in the mornings is one of my most treasured times!  The birds, the flowers, the bunnies and the squirrels all help start my day with a smile.

Good morning Richard,

We have several songbirds that treat us each morning to their melodies! We were just laughing over "Herman"..(my husband named the main leader) that he was exceptionally loud this morning after our booming thunderstorms last night!

Yes, this is a wonderful time of the year.  I enjoy getting up early and having coffee outside (when it is not raining) to listen to the symphony of nature.

Richard, if you have read any of my past posts you will know that I do the same thing. We have a bird sancuary in the yard, we have a pond and lots of woods behind our home and with the bamboo and my wife feeding and birdbaths we have at least 100's if not 1,000's of birds living around our home. It is wonderful to hear but I will admit at times I would like to sleep in....

Outside on the deck or inside in my sunroom, the sound of local music from nature is always a treat.  I go most of the summer without A/C and with windows open.

It's very comforting to be able to sit out on the back deck and listen to the sounds of the birds. The other day, there was so much tweeting and peeping and chirping going on that I just stopped doing what I was working on and took a few moments to enjoy the music!

Richard, this time of year I try to have a cup of coffee and a conversation with my wife on the back patio before we run off to work. It is why we live here.

Richard, I also love that. I don't have a porch, but the back yard will do! Peepers, cows, birds, coyotes at night, wind thru the trees, all wonderful sounds!

Speaking of birds --I love their song but we have a blue bird driving us crazy by tapping on the window every a.m. at 6:02

Window is open, birds are chirping, squirrels are chattering, rain is falling...it is a beautiful cool symphony.

Wow!  Richard, you really nailed it with that bird photo!  The birds wake me up in the morning.  It's lovely, but I haven't a clue what kind they are, except for lots of robins.

Richard:  It took me a while to get used to some of the sounds of the wildlife when I moved to Bristow, Va.  The sounds of frogs at night, or deer in mating season, were totally new to me.  Love the birds.

I love to listen to the birds also Richard.  I moved about six months ago and live in a forest or so it seems.  I never have seen so much wildlife in my life.

You are so right my friend the early morning offers a great start to ones day if we just take the time to hear the music that is being offered up.  Thank you for the reminder.

Hi Richard, I love whatever sound I can hear!  I don't hear birds whistle or twitter but I can hear the mourning doves.  So silly, but I just realized that they were mourning doves and not morning doves.  It makes sense because the sound is so haunting.  I sit by my pool early morning in the summer with tea and my book.  I love it.

Hey Richard,

Excellent advice, and you don't have to live in the "country" (although I sure miss it). The main theme is to take a bit of time and enjoy the greater reality around us. I think that many city dwellers would be surprised to see what would show up at a bird feeder if they just put one up!

Waking to a song bird symphony is how we do it by the time my blogs are a priority it is all about watching the squirrels try to out smart the dogs.

Posted by Sandra Schweiger (California REO agent - Keller Williams) about 2 years ago

Hi Richard, no matter how early I get up, I open the sliding glass doors and type away listening to the birds. We also have mourning doves and they are so pretty to listen to. I love the sounds of nature. A very soothing way to start the day!
