St. Patrick’s Day enjoys the unique attribute of being directly associated with a very specific country and its inhabitants, its emigrants and all of their descendants!
And as March 17th rolls around every year, men and women from all lineages and backgrounds discover that there is a little Irish in all of us.
The day is associated with joy and revelry, and the green of the Emerald Isle that soon will emerge as spring conquers winter’s grip of gray and brown and replaces them with verdant fresh growth!
So although the equinox is yet a few days away, St. Paddy’s day is still the first day of spring as far as I am concerned.
And I will proudly don my green today!

I'm going to have to scrounge through my closet to find my one green shirt. I hope it's still there.
There are sections of the city that are already awash in green eggs and ham...green beer....ahhh...the luck of the Irish...and soon, the hangover !
Richard, I will proudly wear my green today too! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I don't have much green, I hope I can find some to wear!!!
Richard:
This is a day that many of us become Irish for 24 hours just to celebrate. And, it does also seem to be symbolic of spring.
Happy St Patricks day. I will look for somthing Green to wear today.
Happy St Patty's Day! The Irish part of me is always seeking joy and revelry in all I do as long as I am on the "green" side of the grass!

And the same to you! I know that it's a big day in Eastern Pennsylvania! Thanks for jumping in.
I will comply, however, being Polish, I'm not sure ( and begorrah ) about the luck aspect.
Richard, green, next to blue, is my favorite color...and yes I will be proudly wearing my green today.....as I have a wee bit Irish in me!!
I looked. I have nothing green to wear. I've always been more comfortable in blue. So, I'll have to do what I've always done, go with my green eyes.
Erin Go Braugh...may all your St. Patricks day days be green and merry!!

Hi Richard:
Happy St Patrick's Day from the team at National Credit Fixers!
:)
Richard, you always have great posts. I believe everyone is ready for Spring. I have gotten dressed everyone morning for the past two weeks wearing short sleeves, thinking, today is the day for warm weather. I've been disappointed pretty often so far!
Cheers
Richard, my daughter-in-law is Irish. She has been in the states about 10 years but still has that beautiful Irish accent. Happy St. Paddy's Day.
I have my green on and I want my share of beverages!
So here I was in the grocery checkout line this morning, chatting it up with everyone about St Patrick's day when the checker asked me where my "green" was. Everyone else had something green on. I'm dressed in all blue. I'm the only one with red hair, I'm Irish. I forgot. Time to change clothes.
I have on lots of green today Richard and I'm going with your plan... today IS my first day of spring too. And I'm so excited we'll be in the 70's by this weekend. I hope they are here for a while this time.
And I've been meaning to tell you... Congratulations on hitting the top spot in Georgia on AR. Quite the accomplishment. Hope to be right behind you... someday.
I have no green on today - I completely forgot. Blame it on the jet lag caused by the switch to daylight savings time. However, my husband did make Shepherd's Pie for dinner on Sunday so that excuses me.
Wore the green and spent time with lots of people sporting the green.
