Just a quick reminder that Daylight Savings Time officially starts at 2:00 A.M. on Sunday March 14, 2010.
The clocks will be moved forward as we “lose and hour” to adjust to the longer duration of daylight, and our internal body clocks will have to adjust to getting up an hour earlier.
But the extra hour of daylight in the evening is perfect for getting to work on the lawn and garden and all of those other outdoor projects that were put on hold for the winter.
I find it interesting that many of our new time telling devices automatically make the change for us. Every year it seems that I have to manually reset fewer and fewer clocks. Technology has relieved a lot of the time-changing burden for us!
But there is one thing that technology cannot do for us. We will still need to replace the batteries in our smoke alarms!
And that could save our lives!

The only good thing about this side of the time change, the dog wont be trying to get me up an hour earlier for his breakfast. Although perhaps that explains why he has been inching toward a 5am feeding rather than a 6am feeding.
Richard, it seems there is always a clock somewhere I forget to change...
Do I have to... no really, do I have to? I don't like it when I lose an hour of sleep :(
The extra hour of daylight is a small price to pay for the loss of the hour.
Richard,
I have to buy new clocks than. Mine aren't doing squat to help.
Rich
Thank you Richard- All clocks are changed in the house..at least I think so...:)
It would not hurt my feelings if they left it on DST 365 instead of having to fool with this stuff twice a year...
Helping you, help others, live their American dream...
I change the clocks the next day, lol. I do love the longer daylight hours for sure! :)
Richard, I love the automatic clocks devices that auto-update for the time changes. That is - until the government changes the day the clocks change!
I love the change although getting up seemed a bit different this morning...like something had changed during the night!
The devices that change themselves sure are nice. I have been trying to figure out how to change the clock in my girlfriends car to no avail!
