Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

Wait a minute, not another post about snow? What in the world is going on this year?

It’s the second day of March, and there is a prediction for significant snowfall in the metro Atlanta area. “Significant” means one inch or more of the white stuff.

There are several considerations here that are noteworthy:

1)      This is Georgia.

2)      It is March.Snow covered trees in the Great Smoky Mountains by Richard Weisser

3)      We have already had three snow storms this year.

But there is one interesting side effect of Mather’s Nature’s madness. In the past the mere mention of the “S” word would send Atlantans into a panic, assaulting grocery stores and stripping milk and bread from the shelves like deranged lunatics.

But now, we have become conditioned to the weather phenomenon. It’s just another work day. No fear, no panic, no stocking up on milk and bread.

We will go about our normal business today as seasoned snow veterans. We have made the grade! We have evolved.

It seems that a lot of the magic surrounding southern snow has melted away like so many snowmen.

And that’s a little sad.

Hi Richard, we are going to get the slushy stuff tomorrow on long island. I'd rather have it snow. At least it's prettier! Have a great day and stay warm! :)

Richard, last evening the weather man reminded us that it can still snow in March in our area. We are also supposed to get some more snow coming up from your way. Looking forward to a nicer Spring.

Richard - We too are forecasted to receive more snow tomorrow on the Crystal Coast of NC.  Something that used to be VERY RARE!  I still find it "Magical" and hope that I always do.  Stay warm!

Richard, people have short memories for bad winters, etc. In a couple of years the mention of the S word will bring on that same fear and in some cases joy of anticipation.

Hi Richard, Incredible, isn't it? But, something people are growing accustomed to hearing about.  At the beginning of last week I heard a report that 49 of the 50 states had snow.

Richard - it is amazing the amount of snow certain states have received this season. We are expecting more rain today and on and off through the end of the week!

My son called me today from Chattanooga saying he was driving in snow and they were expecting 2" or more and then 50 degrees tomorrow.  Hmmm!

Richard it's getting old fast.  We haven't had any snow but the highs today were in the 40's with plenty of wind.  it was cold showing houses today.

If we heard the "S" word here we wouldn't have a clue what to do.  We have no snow tires ... we have no chains ... we have no sleds or snowmobiles.  What we have is sun screen!! OK, OK, it has been raining here, are you happy now :)
