Life is full of decisions. And there are two ways to approach the decision making process.
One option is to throw caution to the wind and plunge headfirst and willy-nilly into the dilemma and accept any consequences that might result.
The other is to first gather all of the information that you need, then carefully parse it, then analyze it, and finally come to a conclusion based on facts rather than chance.
And while sometimes it’s fun and spontaneous to venture into the unknown, it is probably not the best long-term practice for a successful business.
Because taking just one wrong turn might take you to “the end of the line!”

Richard - Sometimes although I have a plan - I get sidetracked and am heading in multiple directions. Good reminder to stay focused!
Richard, I am normally the 'by the seat of my pants' kind of a guy. But, with business, you better stop for just a second and give it a bit of thought.
Choo-choo! I'm heading in the 'success' direction Richard! Anyone want to come aboard?!
Susan...
And a good chance to use this photo! Thanks so much for the comment.
Bill...
I have flown by the seat of my pants and have been caught with my pants down many times! THX
Wanda....
Lol, that's a cool way to summarize this! Thanks.
Richard - Reminds me of many buyers relying only on online information without using a boots-on-ground Realtor in their desired area. The photo is great
Once again, a terrific photo/story combination, Richard. You are the master at tying the two together! Your photos always perfectly represent the post.

Richard: When running a business, making willy nilly decisions is a bad move. Careful, well thought out, planning is always a good option.
Richard - The split in the road that makes the difference between success and failure .... the picture reflects the sentiments of your post well ....
Richard ~ This train is smokin... ALL A BOARD! My goals are on that train and I don't want them running away from me so I stay on the track.
Great picture for your thoughts on planning your moves. In today's complicated world, it pays to take some time to consider the consequences of your future actions.
Richard, Ditto to what Debi stated...
Great analogy here Richard. Hoping you get to your intended destination with no side trips.
There is a quote that guides me (don't know the author) that says "He who deliberates fully before taking a step will spend his life standing on 1 leg." You will never have all the information so "plan your work and work your plan!"
Richard, I'm doing my best to stay on the right track and hoping I made the right decision. Like your photo.
Richard, great post. It is important to have an adaptable plan!
Good point. The picture really illustrates what happens when we run our business without clear direction.
