Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

I want to know who is in charge of snow distribution. Obviously, someone has made a serious error!

Snow on the moountaintopWell, it looks like Mr. Murphy has struck again. While the Mid-Atlantic states are being bombarded with snow at record depths, the venues for the 2010 Olympic Games are experiencing unseasonably mild weather.

As a matter of fact, it’s so warm in Vancouver, British Columbia, that it is not even possible to make snow. Snow is being brought in by the truckload and is turning into a slushy mess.

Some events may have to be postponed or moved. It is a cause of great concern for event organizers and participants.

It’s just another one of those ironic twists of that reminds us to depend on nothing, and to be prepared to make alternate plans when things go awry.

Because until we are able to control the weather, we just have to learn to deal with it!

You are welcome to redistribute some of the excessive amounts of snow we have on the ground in Maryland. And, another storm is headed our way this afternoon with an additional 12-18" of snow.

I have some snow they can borrow to make some great ramps for ski jumping and snow boarding.  Where would they like it delivered?

Richard:

It is pretty bad when they can't even make snow for the Olympics when Washington D.C. is getting buried. You are right - there is some mass confusion going on in the weather department this week.

Well, we knew it was coming and I was prepared for 3 days.

It's day 4 and more snow is coming.

I'm still snowbound.  My snow removal guys can't even get to me.

I watched a piece on Canada no snow this morning on CNN. Ironic isn't it. Even some of the venues there have too much snow

You know.... I think someone should have given 'Old Man Winter' a GPS for Christmas because he obviously got loss as to his annual winter snow dump this year.

Someone posted on FB this morning, "Dear Mother Nature, if you were a man I would punch you in the face."  It was 20 this morning and will snow here again Thursday.  This southern woman has no idea how to deal with it.

Richard, they sure can have some of our snow. Twenty-two inches already and we are looking at possibly twenty more today and tomorrow. I would be happy to share all this snow with Vancouver.

Richard,

It's going to make for a sloppy Winter Olympics in some venues. I hope that the athletes don't get hurt trying to win a medal in less than satisfactory conditions.

We, however, are TOO BLESSED with snow here in Crofton, MD.

Richard, The country is experiencing some crazy weather conditions. We are in our monsoon season here and rain is fine with me, no snow please. Your photo is beautiful, it looks like a painting it is so vividi!

Richard....backup systems need to be in place by everyone, even those planning the Olympics!!!  There are usually glitches in the mix and that backup is a life saver.

You can never control Mother Nature and she will go out of her way to prove that to you. Especially if you have made plans around the weather.

Could it be global warming in Vancouver and global cooling in the lower 48? I do not envy any of those dealing with the snow (with more on its way!).

Richard - The warmer weather may give the Jamacian Bobsled team a chance. Or it may be an economic stimulus to snow truckers. I'll bet the IOC is scrambling at this point

I wish I understood global warming better. I know the ice caps are melting, I've seen the photos. So, I'm a bit confused....

I guess the weather god is anti Winter Olympics?  Hopefully they will get some real snow by the time the games start.

I called the head of the Olympics and donated all the snow that they could haul.  I will even help load the trucks myself!

Richard, I would be happy to call my friends in the Ski industry where I live...It is cold as cold can be here. We'll take an event.

I have tons and tons right here and it's free to boot, all they have to do is haul it away...

Hi Richard, the snow boarders are headed your way, so be cool!

Posted by Frank Kliewer 7 months ago

We have tons of snow on our front lawn that we are willing to donate to the Olympics.  LOL at Claude (#14).  For the record we (meaning Jamaica) even have a skier in the Olympics this year.

Funny that Canada is experiencing global warming and the eastern seaboard is getting buried.

It's fairly obvious Richard.  We should have had the Olympics in Washington DC!!

Posted by Gabe Sanders, Stuart Florida Real Estate (Premier Realty Group) 7 months ago

Richard, with all the snow jobs in DC, that would have been my choice...
