I am sitting here in my recliner, full of holiday fare, warm by the fire, with a cat asleep in my lap. It's a perfect ending to another Christmas Day!
And now that the gifts have been opened and the dishes have been washed, it's time to accept the fact that that it's just about over for this year.
But Christmas doesn't have to end at this point. Because we can take the spirit of the season with us, and maintain it throughout the upcoming new year! If we can all extend the principles of generosity and benevolence beyond the boundaries of the holidays, especially in these difficult times, we will all be the better for it!
And that's something good to take with us into 2010!

Hi Richard:
You're right...what a way to begin the New Year!
For me...I'm on my way to the recline, the cat will surely jump into my lap and I'll watch the football game!
Hello Richard and I couldn't agree with you more, everyday is a "Holiday" for Vegas Bob!
Toula...
Sounds great to me! Thanks, my friend.
Hi Bob...
Well, after all, you DO live in Vegas! lol and thanks.
Gary...
In bad times, good people are a blessing! Thanks so much.
Richard, I couldn't agree with you more...If we all extend the principles of generosity and benevolence beyond the boundaries of the holidays, what a WORLD this would be. Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2010.
Richard: A great sentiment, and words of wisdom here. It doesn't need to be a holiday to be good to one another, or appreciate family time, etc. Merry Christmas Richard.
Richard -- You have highlighted what Christmas is really all about. You're right. The day is ending but the generosity and good will should live on into and during 2010 and beyond. Wonderful thoughts. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Richard,
Merry Christmas. What's with the fire? It was a balmy 82 here today - it often is on Christmas.. )
Steve
Richard, sounds like you had a wonderful day. You are so right, if we can just take this feeling through the year with us how much better things would be. Perhaps there should be a bit of Christmas in every day!
And, you know our Christmas isn't done yet, I have a few more weeks to go in this house.
Bless you and yours. Merry merry Christmas!
Well said, Richard. We celebrate today, but the spirit is always with us. Merry Christmas and best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
Richard, You are so right, Jesus came to earth for us all, and we should remeber that always!
You are right Richard! Are you ever wrong?
Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!
Rebecca...
I agree completely. We all need to keep the spirit alive. And then we can keep this feeling alive and well. THX so much.
Chris Ann...
It makes us feel good at Christmas, so why shouldn't we experience the joy of giving throughout the year. I hope that you had a great Christmas!
Barbara...
Right you are. And we'll ALL benefit from keeping Christmas throughout the year! Thanks.
Richard- I certainly agree that the spirit of Christmas should and can be with us all through the year.
Richard~
This was a terrific day for my family. No fireplace for me, but warm family around. I'll take that anyday!
It sounds like we had the same kinda day. Glad to hear it.
Christmas SHOULD NOT end now! We need to carry the attitude of generosity with us at all times. I'm reminded of the song, "Don't Save It All For Christmas Day"... one of my favorites. As the lyrics way, we should "give a little love every day". =)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Hi Richard... everyone always seems so friendly around the holidays and I have enever understood why that type of behavior should be limited to one month of the year! Glad to hear you had such a nice day!
Richard, you are right that Christmas doesn't have to end today. It is all a state of mind and attitude to approach each day and task with thanksgiving and expectancy of a positive outcome.
Amen to that Richard, have a wonderful new year full of Christmas's
