Wow, December is racing along at an astonishing pace, Christmas Eve is a week from today and there’s precious little time left to complete any unfinished holiday chores.
This is also the “point of no return” for a lot of the activities and tasks that we have planned. We are at the point where if it doesn’t get done in the next day or two it will probably have to “wait until next year!”
And although we have reached the annual Christmas “event horizon,” the fact of the matter is that it’s not all that important to get every hall decked and every gift wrapped.
The true treasure of Christmas is the precious time that we allot to share the season with our loved ones, and the pure joy derived from fellowship and camaraderie of all those that are dear to us overrides any breach of seasonal responsibilities.
So forget those last minute to-do items, and give a friend or kinsman a call!
That will go a long ways towards making “the season bright!”

Another morning dose of wisdom from Richard! We sometimes get so busy doing things that we forget to enjoy the season!
You are so right, sometimes we lose focus when we get caught up in all the holiday frenzy. As I am wrapping my gifts it's making me realize how much I wish I could go home to be with my family this year.
Great thoughts Richard! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Kathleen
Gary....
Actually, you summed that up in one sentence much better than I could have! THX
Stacey-Ann...
But you will be with them in your heart! And that means a lot.
Richard.....our priorities need to be in the right sequence.....family and friends are most important.....the we need to make paklava and choereg!!!!!
Richard, very wise words indeed. It really isn't all about how many presents, overspending, it is about overspending time with family and friends. There is so much pressure to do everything "right" and make it THE perfect Christmas, well, that will never happen. So relax and enjoy!
Absolutely TRUE!!! I hope you get to spend quality time with the people you love this holiday season
Kathleen...
And the same to you! Thanks for the comment.
Barbara...
And pizzelles and panatone! Ummmmm and thanks!
Andrea...
You are so right my friend. And very nicely stated. Thanks so much and have a blessed day.
Richard....another great point you make. It's all about how we make other people feel. Hope you have a great day!
Richard, you are absolutely right. I am going to give someone a call. Thanks and have a great holiday.
It's hard to believe that Christmas is so close and that this year has just gone by. But at least we can get presents now.
Richard this is the time of year when trying to clean up last minute issues is important, but the season is all about family and friends, lest we forget. Interesting photo, a house surrounded by the lights and colors of Christmas. Thanks for sharing.
Rick...
That is what it is all about! Thanks for the comment.
Rob...
That's the true spirit of the season. THX
Michael...
I am certain that will bring joy to both parties! Thanks so much.
Richard: I can't believe that Christmas Eve is a week from now. Yikes! I have so much to do, but seem to be picking up full steam in my business. So much for having time to relax and enjoy the holidays.
Richard - In some respects the slow down in the economy has been a blessing in that it reminds us what is truly important at this time of year. We are focusing more on family time and it's a wonderful feeling.
We all to often put our energies towards material things and forget the personal aspect of what the Holiday represetns.
Richard,
You are so right. There are many that would so appreciate a call or some time visiting..making that a priority is a wonderful idea. Thanks!
Hi Richard... the pre-Christmas frenzy is definitely upon us. I have a closing scheduled for December 23, so that has thrown an added "twist" into the usual craziness of the season. Happy Holidays!
Today was the last day of school for my son and I really wish I could just join in and relax. However working on 4 new listings, we have a closing on 24th (shaking head) and another for 30th... sigh. Maybe I'll relax in January... ~Rita
I am ready for the quiet time with the children and grandchilden. It is definitely time to stay away from the malls and have some fun.
Yes Richard, December is racing by like a herd of wild turtles. I had to step aside to keep from being stampeded...
