Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

When you live your life in a fishbowl it is inevitable that someone will always tap on the glass!

Living life in a fishbowl exposes you to all sorts of peopleI have written over a thousand blog posts in my two year writing career, and have laid my soul bare in a public forum. The journal of my trials and tribulations is available for anyone that cares to read it.

Like anyone else, I have my ups and downs, and because I am passionate there may be extreme emotions connoted in my musings that can at times make a reader uncomfortable.

And that’s okay. I want a reader to get more than just mere words from my articles. I want to evoke feelings, and to continue to explore the human condition by getting heartfelt responses.

On occasion, I might even get a comment that is mean-spirited and intended to be hurtful. They might even go to great lengths to verbally assault me with derision and demeaning epitaphs.

When I get one of “those” comments, I sit back and smile!

Because at that point, I know that I have succeeded in my writing efforts!

ToulaRosebrock,comHi Richard:

The beauty of this forum is that; when someone "taps the glass" and is mean spirited...

We can choose to use the handy little delete option...

Maybe it was jealousy more than anger, etc.  I even get some back once in a while that i think are sarcastic of a shot at me.  I wouldn't lose any sleep over it Richard.  I look forward to your blogs.

Anybody that is in any way sincere will get people to be jerks. If everyone agrees with you then you are probably in a bad spot!

Richard, If someone takes the time to comment that is a sign that you've accomplished your goal.

Some folks thrive on the casting stones at people... I read this morning

Hi Richard!  Thank you for this.  As you know, I received a very nasty private email in response to my latest post.  I immediately did for sorry for the kind of person who has the time to send some hateful drivel.  You made me feel much better after I forwarded it to you and you responded.  You are such a great friend Richard, and if not for your honest and transparent writing style, we may not know each other as well as we do.  Thanks for this post.  It's an early Christmas present.  xxoo

Richard, what a great way to think about things. I have to say, you have made a big difference in my life this year. Your posts are so insightful and honest and very well written. I have learned so much from you since April, when I really started getting into AR. Thank you for being such a great Amabassador for the site and for being such an amazing person!

Richard:  Someone tapping on your fishbowl means they are noticing you, no matter what they say in their comment.  Beware of the new war that this wonderful platform has brought us:  BLOG WARS.  There are those among us that want desperately to tear down anyone they see as a threat.  Perhaps some of your nasty comments come from someone who is trying to drag you into a Blog War.

Richard, I enjoy your posts and pictures. You have developed the ability to stay short and to the point.

When you get one of those reactions it goes to prove that you have caused someone to think...maybe.

Richard:

I think Chris Ann is onto something I have noticed it as well.

Your blog is a joy to read every day and it is inspiring me to try to put a little more of myself into my posts because I think that is part of what captures the reader and draws them to come back. It's not an easy process for a private person to do but I think it is an important - and I am trying to do more of it.

But, when you do anything well, someone will invariably become envious and, thus, the stabbing comments begin.

Richard,

Was that Mel that I saw above?  She is coming back and it is about time.

My friend I like your writing and haven't found anything that I could remotely disagree with.

BTW, do you give writing classes?

Hi All!!!!

Thanks so much for the kind words. As you may or may not know, I have been very busy with a lots of things and don't have as much time as I would like to respond to all of these wonderful comments.

But I do read every comment and I appreciate the support very much!

Posted by Richard Weisser Coweta Fayette Real Estate over 2 years ago

Richard, if they are reading, it's because they know you have something worthwhile to say.  It's when they stop reading that you should worry.  And I don't see that happening anytime in the near future.

Very cool!  You know what?  How much better is it to get a comment either good or bad than to hear crickets chirping instead?  We write to connect with others.  Although I would say sometimes people take things to extremes.  I mean it is only a blog post. Everyone is entitled to an opinion right?  LOL  Maybe you should check out their fish bowl?  They may need some tappin as well!  Thanks for your posts!  They always make me smile!

Richard, I read and enjoy your blog daily.  I can't understand why any one would be mean spirited.  Then again, sometimes I have a tendency to be sarcastic, ant that has been misunderstood in the past.

Hi Richard... WOW!  Those responses are even better than the ones that say "Great post, thanks for sharing!".  :)  Seriously, when I get those responses, I remind myself that a part of conversational blogging is sometimes passionate emotion.

There is a line from a song, you may know it;

I can make you feel, but I can't make you think

That immediately popped into my head when I read this. Artistic efforts, writting is creative, evokes emotion. You have succeded when you get a rise out of someone.
