I got up a little earlier than usual this morning. Although I’m usually an early riser, today I had a mission of special significance.
Before me lay the onions, garlic and peppers that I would need to get sweating and three pounds of sirloin to brown, and had to get everything simmering for a chili luncheon at the office today.
Good food is a great way to bring people together, and good homemade food can’t be beat! It’s a tasty and inexpensive way to come together as a team and build relationships inside the firm.
So I didn’t mind getting up an hour earlier today. I know that everyone will enjoy the results of my labor.
Now the question is: “should I or shouldn’t I add more chilies?”

HA! Folks that come to my home or home office at lunch time will be fed.
Interesting blog for 7:00 a.m.! At this point I'm more interested in coffee than chili but I'm sure it will look appetizing a few hours from now.
Richard.....isn't it funny how food does that???? I manage the office and we do that often.....we have a very stable, close knit office of 30 agents....
we also host luncheons for our weekly broker town tour.....we feed every broker in town, if they show up....and they DO show up....feed them and they'll come!!!
More chilies! Now I am hungry!!!
Richard, this is a great way to get together with fellow office workers. Do you have room for one more? Hold the chilies.

And the colder it gets outside, the better good food on the inside seems to work! Thanks my friend.
Craig...
I have to be honest, the smell DOESN'T mix with my freshly ground coffee! lol and thanks.
Barbara...
And doing it yourself isn't all that expensive. There will be less than $40 in the whole pot! You can't beat that. Thansk for the comment.

More is good (LOL). ;-)

Thanks for the feature in CC, I really appreciate it!
ADD THE CHILIES you will be glad you did!!!! :-)) I am all for the heat. I think that we need to do more of the Pot Luck lunches in the office we seem to have a fair turnout when we do.
Richard, Chili is one of my favorite dishes and the warmer, the better! Your luncheon sounds like a great way to bring people together!
Richard:
Food is always a great way to bring people together. Unfortunately, I am not a very good cook. But, I think you should hold the chilies - it's getting a bit spicy.
Richard: One of the things I love about my office is that it's like a home away from home. There is always food and a bunch of folks ready to support you in any situation. We're a tight knit group.
Love Chilie, can't handle the over hot. I like skin on my tongue. Actually it is a stomach issue. We have done these pot lucks also and turn out is usually great. It is a grea way to connect with those that are not around a lot.
You can never have enough chilies! That sounds and looks delish! What time is lunch???
I think add a few more but I know not everyone likes it hot. Maybe a few on the side would be a better choice.
"should I or shouldn't I add more chilies?"
Ha HAAA!!! You are making my mouth water and in our part of the country more is usually better but we try to remember that "Pain is not a flavor"I try to err on the side of those who have not built a tolerance for capsaicin! Have great weekend!

Ah yes, if you feed them, they will come. I have always liked chili my friend and I'm sure yours is great.
Richard, I'm reading this late afternoon. More chilis sound better to me now than they might have earlier in the day with coffee!
Richard, I didn't know. It looks so good, I would have flown up to get a bite. Nice job.
Richard, teamwork is a HUGE part of my office. We will be having a pot luck football game watching party together next Sunday (with families!)! I couldn't be in an office where we weren't like family. I wouldn't thrive! Did you add more chilies?? :-)
