I admit it. I’m a leaf lover. When nature turns on the color machine, I can’t think of anything else.
I think that part of the allure comes from the fleeting nature of the phenomenon. The length of time between peak color and brown leaves is brief, requiring prompt action if you wish to attempt to capture the show with your camera.
And while it’s true that some years are better than others, I’ve always been able to find “pockets” of leaves willing to pose for the lens.
So this year I am adding to the collection of thousands of fall photographs I have accumulated over the years. It’s always fun to compare shots from year to year.
And for me, it’s not just a passion, it’s an obsession. And I’ll continue chasing the leaves as long as I am able!

Richard,
I'm "leafing" it today too. However, its sucking them up into the lawn vac. Ugh!
Rich
Your obsession is a good one sir and I would probably be doing the samething if it wasn't for the rain. Thanks for sharing my friend.
Richard, I love fall pictures too. The colors mesmerize me. I saw several beautiful scenes as I was driving Saturday but didn't have time to capture them. That's where you do so well with this sort of thing.
Richard, I have a plan for a few good spots to go and "leaf it". It is my favorite time of year, my eyes are filled with such glory, it is amazing. Good luck to you, and I hope to see millions of photos!
Any excuse to get out of work! I am just pulling your leg. I appreciate the pics you share!
Richard....love the photos.....love the color....now, if those leaves could only stay attached to their respective trees!!!!!
Rich...
lol, you should use my technique. Let the wind take care of them and hope that your neighbors are more ambitious! THX
Don...
The rain has been continuous this year. Thanks.
Connie...
You have to stop ... everything else can wait! lol and thanks
Andrea...
I have so many that I haven't scanned or otherwise even looked at in years. I've GOT to get on the ball! THX
Mel...
Actually, I have to show property today but wish that I didn't have to! Thanks my friend.
Barbara...
See my response to Rich I. above! lol and thanks.
Sounds like a good obsession to me... I do the same thing when Mother Nature starts sprinkling color on the tree tops.
Richard..you picked a good obsession...great picture.
Richard,
Your obsession comes out loud and clear from your wonderful pictures!
Richard - you need to put your photos in a slide/video presentation for us! Just heard about sliderocket.com. But you have so many to share! I'm with you - I'll stop and click - I love this time of the year!
Richard: The term "leaf peeper" was shared with me a few years ago. Sounds like some sort of Peeping Tom action. And to think of you out there on the side of a mountain with one of those big 'ole professional lenses, well....you are indeed a leaf peeper. Enjoy! I know I love the pics you share.
Richard, you need scratch and sniff photos! I'm a big fan of the beauty and that autumn woodsy smell that I can't even explain.
I'm jealous....we don't get seasons. There are a few liquid amber trees which give it their best, but mostly our yards look the same all year round.
Richard - it is probably the most colorful time of the year in some places. My camera will also be working overtime.
My qwife is obsessed with the leaves also...She want them off the grass!
Your photo is fabulous, as always! Yesterday we visited the San Antonio Botanical Gardens and the leaves were turning...it was amazing and beautiful...I love leaves too, I found myself oooooohhhhing and aaaaaawwwwing over so many different leaves, their shapes, colors, textures and appearances...very fascinating. It does a real estate soul good to take a moment and savor such things!

Great photo! Amanda and I are looking forward to going up to north ga and checking out the leaves later in November. By the way, there is a great photography site to check out: http://www.smokyphotos.com/ The photographer is very talented :)
This time of year it's hard not to want to stare at all the wonderful colors. That's why I'm glad that we have quite a few country roads around here that I can ride down and see the leaves myself.
This year has been so great for fall color. I lost a bit of excitement today I had to rake for a couple of hours today and they are not quite a pretty on the ground.
This is just such a gorgeous time of year it's hard not to get caught up in leaf gazing.
