Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

Happy thoughts, happy thoughts. I must think only happy thoughts or I'll go completely crazy!

Cacti blooms by Richard WeisserI finally realized that most of the stress that I suffer is the result of the complete incompetence of someone else. I realize that I have no control over that. In order to keep from busting a blood vessel I must think only happy thoughts.

Like yesterday, when the nationally known mortgage company kept telling me that we needed the power turned on for an appraiser at a house we sold. The house is not our listing, so I could not have the power turned on if I wanted to. So I spent all day on the phone trying to resolve the problem.

Last night the client sent me a copy of the appraisal that was done weeks ago. Apparently someone at the mortgage company "forgot" that they already have it.

I spent an entire day of my life struggling in vain to fix something that wasn't broken.

Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, I must keep thinking happy thoughts.

Lenders don't know how to sell real estate.

Lenders are staffed by clerkles who will collect a pay check if they do nothing.

Lenders don't care.

Lenders. . . . .

I have often wished we could get from point A to point C without all the grief and aggravation point B seems to cause in this business.  I'm glad it worked out, but wouldn't it have been nice not to have to deal with all of that?

It's hard not to get worked up over someones incompetence when it digs deep into your time and energy. Blogging is good therapy. Hope your stress has subsided.

Richard,

There's that old saying, "some days you eat the bear, and some days the bear eats you." Sounds like Richard was on the menu yesterday.

Uh oh...time for a name change.

Lenn...

True, true, true and probably true! THX

Susan...

And I could have helped other clients in the meantime. Thanks and have a great day!

James...

It has subsided, but I hope the deal gets done as I haven't talked to the mortgage company about the "revelation" yet. Thanks for the comment.

Richard - It's healthy to have an outlet to alleviate the stress. Blog on. Besides, today is a new day. Enjoy.

Richard, looks like someone dropped the ball at your expense. Hopefully it was only misplaced. Put it behind you and have a great day.

Breathe deep.  Very deep.  Close your eyes ... imagine you are traveling along a winding road lined with beautiful flowers, rich foliage and peaceful streams.  There, there ... let your mind wander to a happier place.  There ... doesn't that feel better?  :)

Richard, I know the feeling all to well. We all need to take our minds to a happier place. When I started doing this, I began to realize that this shift in attitude really made a difference in what is happening with my business...

Richard, take a deep breath, take a walk and enjoy the roses and realize that not everyone has a brain.  Too many strawmen in this world!!

Richard - must be the same department that handles REO's and short sales. They all keep losing the information. But, just remember that happy place you blogged about a couple of weeks ago.......

Richard:  I had a the same problem yesterday on a time crunch.  Settling in a little over a week.  My sellers had aleady turned off utilities.  I called them to get things turned on ASAP.  Where were they?  In the hospital, about to have their new baby.  That's a situation where I WISH the bank had simply screwed up.

Richard, you have found that key to serenity in dividing up the things in your control and out of your control. It does amaze me how OTHERS can so waste our time though.

Richard,

It's amazing how one hand does not know what the other is doing! It is frustrating..more time is needed to follow up..follow up and then follow up one more time!

We just never get to decide who is going to ruin or waste our day. That's why I get up in the morning, to see whose turn it is to screw up.

That stinks Richard.  Sorry it happened.  You are to be commended for your efforts however and it shows how far you will go to help someone.

Hi Richard! Usually when I feel the MOST stress is when it appears that I have to take responsibility for things that are not under my control.

Your scenario is a telling one. So, what was wrong with the listing agent? Hmmm....

If you find out how to get people to take responsibility where appropriate, let me know, will you?

Love that photo!

That's terrible.  People are so inconsiderate of other people's time.  I'm sorry you wasted your day.  Hope the happy thoughts help you keep your cool.

Good grief that sounds pretty much what's happening here with no end in site.  I have been learning to have so much patience and I'm sure I shake my head a least a dozen time a day as the lenders don't have a clue as  to just about everything these days.

Whoops........back to happy thoughts.  Where was i going.....stop that!
