Coweta Fayette Real Estate & Newnan Homes for sale blog by Richard Weisser of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

Reflections on the first week of summer. I can sum it up in one word: HOT!

Dawn reflected on the grill by Richard WeisserJune is normally a very pleasant month here in the Atlanta area. It is typically the time when the summer warm-up sets in, but with evenings cool enough to open the windows and get some fresh air.

Not this year. The afternoon highs have been in the high nineties every day for the last two weeks, with high humidity that doesn't allow the air to cool during the shortest nights of the year. We hit 99 degrees in Newnan yesterday, almost unbearably hot for this time of year.

And the ten day forecast indicates that we will have high temperatures in the nineties for the foreseeable future. So there is only one thing left to do if I'm going to survive this extended heat wave:

RW, It sounds as though we are suffering through the same HOT weather.

Richard, we have blue skies this morning, and can you believe it... that big yellow thing in the sky. Temps will be up to 81 so they say. I am not a fan of intense heat or humidity.

Guess there is not much we can do about it but get used to it.

And, just to let you know, there is rain in our forecast for the next ten days every day, LOL.

Don...

I know it ...what is July going to be like if it's this hot NOW? Stay cool my friend!

Andrea...

My daughter lives in Philly and she has been telling me the same thing. I could use a little of that rain right now! Thanks my friend.

Richard, the warm weather is welcomed here after all the rain we've been having. Not as hot as Atlanta, but rather warm. A nice change of pace here in Virginia.

Richard:  You are describing last summer here in DC.  Luckily we are relatively mild in terms of heat this year.

Why don't you come visit me for a while. It's monsoon season with temps in the mid 80's

Richard, we have started a similar pattern in North Texas with a mini five day pattern of 100 degree days. Long term our area is supposed to be wetter and cooler which would be nice.

I don't love the heat either but after all the crazy rain we've had this Spring, i'll take it.

Rain, Rain, Rain... that is most of what we had for almost the entire month of June... At this point I am ready for sun and hot weather!

These past few weeks have been pretty rough my friend. I'm hoping we can get a little relief soon, but since I don't we will, I'll just have to start loving it too.
