A fellow agent came into the office today, and offered the perfunctory: "Hi Richard, how's your day going?"
I responded "wonderful, I'm having a great day again as usual!"
Then came the surprise. He said "every time I ask you how you are doing or how's your day going; you always answer in a very upbeat way! That's unusual these days."
I guess that I have never really thought about it, but I do try to be positive and upbeat with my coworkers whenever I can. Goodness only know that the market is tough enough as it is, and sometimes a friendly smile or a "let's go get ‘er done" can make the difference between a chore and a challenge!
It sure was nice for him to let me know it mattered to him and made a difference, albeit a small one.
That's all the more reason for me to be upbeat tomorrow!

We all have the ability to be optimistic or pessimistic. When we are optimistic we offer warmth and make everyone around us feel better even for a moment. You don't dwell on negative and that is why you can be hopeful and spread your cheer to others. Good for you.
Richard, you have a great attitude. I think we all know agents who congregate around the water cooler, mired in self pity and complaining about business being slow. What a dangerous group to belong to....
