After two years of blogging, I have definitely noticed that the quantity of blog posts always drops over the summer months.
There are plenty of logical reasons for the phenomenon, and it only stands to reason that in a world of immediate priorities, something has got to give.
The kids are out of school, vacations are taken, and there are a lot more outdoor activities and chores that need to be done in the warm months.
Nobody wants to spend good daylight hours sitting in front of a computer keyboard hunting and pecking out a diatribe about short sales or interest rates. That scenario is much more palatable during the cold and dark nights of winter.
But summer is also a time for reading and relaxation. So even if the muses don't whip you into a creative frenzy and stir you into penning a masterpiece, there is still sufficient material to be perused and absorbed.
So grab a beverage, sit down, and enjoy some good blog offerings. And if you have an extra thirty seconds, a comment or two is always nice, and very welcome!

Especially when you have dedicated blog readers that count on you to read your blogs, must keep blogging.
Nice pictures Richard and nioce post. It gets even hotter in the summer where you are so I guess things can slow down
The quality of blog posts drop over the summer?? Says who? Speak for yourself. LOL. You amaze me with your consistency seriously Richard. Great job. We can't all be Kings. ; )
Good point. I look forward to reading blogs while having my coffee.
B & A...
That's what keeps me going, but it has gotten much harder lately! But I will persevere! lol and thanks.
Charlie...
That's when us lowlanders head to the mountains! ;)
Gary...
I guess I might have been speaking for myself ... some days are tougher than others! Thanks for the good natured ribbing my friend, I really appreciate it!
Hi Richard:
I wish I could say that my reason is because I'm taking time off...
But for me, I'm just so overwhelmed with work.
I am here for the long run. I have my game plan for the year, month, week and day. I know where I want to be at the end of the year 200K. Great post
Blog blahs? How did you know, Richard? LOL Happy blogging to you.
How I miss summer in Atlanta! Well, okay, so we were north of Atlanta, up in Cherokee County...but what a surprise the summers were...absolutely wonderful, warm but not so humid. Drive a few hundred miles north, though, to DC and the summer can be miserable with all the humidity. Amazing how that works!
p.s. Forgot to mention how gorgeous the photo is...a client brought 2 1/2 dozen roses to me at a recent closing...they were a beautiful ivory color at the base, with a pink tint that slowly darkened as you went toward the top of the flower. Absolutely exquisite. I have always loved flowers, but having such a bounty on the table just spoiled me and I haven't been without fresh cut flowers ever since...your photo really caught my eye.
Richard - I am still not used to the humidity of Georgia in the summer, so there will still be days when I am more than happy to sit in front of a key board.
I'm looking forward to the blah's of summer! I miss being more Active here and long for the diatribes about short sales or interest rates!
Great post. Most people do spend summers on vacation. Real estate is all year round. Thanks
For many it is also business getting in the way...I can't wait for that problem!
Hi Richard ~ Give me some good A/C and I'll keep writing, reading and commenting. It has occurred to me though that I better take all the photos that I'll need until fall over the next few weeks - my enthusiasm for roaming the streets of the city in the heat and humidity will be limited. Right now we're in a cold stretch - finally getting over 60 today - but soon enough it will be time for the office battles over the thermostat.

I take my laptop outdoors with me whenever I can. This way I can read and comment and be happy!
Gary...
I'm glad that I can add to your coffee experience! lol
Toula...
And every job is demanding more of our time!
Harry...
That is an excellent goal, and quite attainable! Now go for it!
I know we are all looking forward to the lazy days of summer...but you are right, we need to stay on top of our business. I like Lourdes' suggestion to take the laptop outside!
It is easy to get distracted when the weather is nice!
Shirley...
It's a summer thing ... now get out there and do something! lol
Susan...
Thanks for the comment and all of the king words. I took the photo of my roses in my back yard ... a long story but a plant that I have rooted and propagated for years. It's practically indestructible! THX
Mike...
I think that today may be shaping up to be one of those days!
Read, take notes and relax now you are talking. OOPS, just a second I need an adult beverage to go with.
Hi Richard, The roses are particularly beautiful - I would much rather be outside now that the weather is nice! Was is quantity or quality of blog posts?? I read it both ways between you and Gary! and appreciate that you (both) post consistently.. I'm not sure how either one of you do it!
Everyone will eventually come crawling back Richard, just give it time my friend.
The kids!!! That's what is stopping me! Schools out for summer............................
Hi Richard. Love the tone of this post...
I am sitting down, with beverage, and perusing Active Rain. A lovely day in real estate.
Thanks for writing,
Ken
JoAnna...
Well, that's a very nice attitude. THX
Katiejo...
It really is a year round business, but summer beckons...Thanks
Bill...
Nasty, stupid business can interfere with fishing! Thanks, my friend.
Liz...
I was on the Cape a few summers ago and it was unbearably hot, and they didn't seem to know about air conditioning! THX
Lourdes...
What a great idea ... now get a beverage! ;)
Holly...
Lourdes is a very smart lady! Thanks for the comment!
First...JoAnna- diatribes??? Come on now...
Hey Richard,
good post. I have been slacking off and it's not even summer yet.
Blahs? What blahs? Of course I have not been working from a laptop, in bed all day! Who told you such a thing! ROFL! (yes, it's true)
Richard,
Add to the list allergies and you have where I am with keeping up with life....

Richard, I hope to be more active. It is really a big part of my business plan. I just have to get my husband broken into being Mr. Mom more. :)
