I have gotten to the point where I can't watch the news anymore. And I have read a lot of posts about otherwise normal people saying and doing the craziest things that exacerbate an already unprecedented national catastrophe.
I wanted to get on my soapbox, and rant and rave, and send my voice of incredulous reason throughout cyberspace in an attempt to calm the tempestuous waters of mayhem and confusion.
Instead, I'm going to my "Happy Place!" That place in my imagination where the tribulations of the world do not affect me, nor do they require any response or declaration on my behalf.
Let someone else figure it out today! Ommmmmmm...Ommmmmm!

Hi Richard:
I'm with you on this subject! I refuse to listen or read those topics, very aggrevating.
Instead, just like "Happy Gilmore", go to your "Happy Place".
Richard - I am envisioning a fly rod and rising trout, now that is a happy place!
Richard,
I do that a lot, my sister accuses me of sticking my head in the sand, however, there is so much stupidity out in the world and so much of it I personally can't do anything about.
Better off in the Happy Place!...
Richard, Is it too early for a drink? Nope, it must be noon somewhere. Rich
Richard - I like your place , it look warm enough for a dip and a good novelette
Richard, now that is a scenic shot for sure. I agree with you, ommmm ommmm is right.
Have a wonderful day in your happy place!
Toula...
"In my mind, I'm already there!" Thanks, my friend.
Mike...
The photo is the Toccoa River on Friday evening ... if you look very, very closely there is someone fishing in the photos. THX
Connie...
Oh ... there you are ... on the other side of the river! WAVE! lol and thanks.
I can sooooo relate!
I love where you say "let someone else figure it out today" LOL
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMEN!
I am with you, there is so much me right, you wrong (as the neanderthal would say) conflict and if a person disagrees with just part of what you might say , you are the enemy. There is no compromise or dialogue any more. I sometimes think I will get on my own soap box but then I woold probably make half the folks I like laugh and the other half would be pissed off! Maybe I better get back to work! Have a good weekend!
Rich...
I guess it is ... A Bloody Mary sounds nice! Thanks!
Laura...
It is a great spot, that's for sure. I just "discovered" it Friday night! THX
Andrea...
I feel better already, don't you? ;)
Richard, Unlike Mike I am seeing you sitting in the middle of the floor with your legs crossed, and chanting something.
Have a PEACEFUL day my friend. Ommmmmm Ommmmmm
I can relate. There are so many that know all the answers...let them have the day day...ommmmm....ommmmm!
Richard, There are people with too much time on their hands. Obviously they are not really working at their profession or they wouldn't have so much time to spout drivel!
Friday was a beautiful day here with temperatures in the 70s. My husband Bill and I decided at 2:00 pm to take the rest of the day off! We drove down to Ocean City, Maryland, and took a long walk on the boardwalk. We watched the kites flying high. We went to a favorite restaurant, Patsy's, in Bethany Beach and we did not talk real estate or the economy at all! It was a happy end to a pretty good week.
Mmmmm. When will "Richard's Adventures in Wonderland" be published???
JoAnna...
And I by gosh mean it! lol and thanks.
Russell...
I almost thought about getting into a scrum last night, and then, as you so wisely stated, I realized that I would disenfranchise a lot of my supporters ...so why bother? Thanks for the comment.
Don...
I am having one! Thanks my friend, I hope that you have a great day too!
Hey Richard, smart move scooting over to the happy place! Check out Susan Mangigian's blog on Thankful Thursday's......that'll lift your spirits...
Loved Kathy's Friday afternoon above...that'll change your day too!
Have a Happy Weekend
Al and Peggy
Richard - I love your Happy Place without the worries of the world. We need that nowadays. I'm living for vacation next week, just to recharge.
Richard...AR is my happy place...next to me being in a boat. Ido understand what you are saying. I just shut off the TV
I'm with Mike - fly fishing, catching some trout. Wow, that is a spectacular shade of blue that you captured. Absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.
We should all have a "happy" place to turn to help center us. Like you, when i get to a point I need to rant or overcome major disappointment I turn to my post. Instead of a rant, I create a post of a positive message. It helps me and hopefully may uplift others. Love the photo happy place and you have shot a great one!
Richard.....I am right there with you....in my happy place that is
It is the best way to get away form the insanity of our world
Bo
looks like a lovely spot. If there's an adirondack chair for me to sit in, a little cognac to pour, and a cigar... I'll join you.
Negativity? Nay-Sayers? Doom and gloom? What???? I can't hear you! What??? I still can't hear you!!!
Oh well, whatever Negative Nancy or Doubting Thomas were saying ... must have been unimportant. I can't hear them.
Richard, this is very yogalike. I wish I had that term when my kids were growing up. I love it "happy place.'
My happy place is right inside my mind. The way I figure it, you are constantly chattering about something (thank you mind, I heard you. And just TRY to turn it off - impossible), And you can control the chatter. You're the DJ. Think positive stuff, you feel better. Listen to whining and complaining, and "poor me" stuff, and bitching, and "I get the worst clients... YOU always get the good people"..... I won't listen for long. "Excuse me, I have an appointment"... with my happy place!
Alan May and I are on the same page. See you soon!
I really don't have a happy place, I figure rather than being trapped in my head, I'll just rant and rave and get it over with. I would only be prolonging the inevitable by pretending that that's not what I am going to do anyway.
Enjoy your happy place today.. No worries Monday is just around the corner.
Gary...
That's the spirit! Ommmm....Ommmm lol
Kathy ...
Sounds like you had a great day! Thanks for adding to the conversation!
Lenn...
You should know better than to give me ideas! ;)
The happiest place I have found lately is being around my 8 month old granddaughter, she makes me laugh and smile and forget everything that needs forgotten!
Peggy...
I did check out Susan's post at your suggestion and it was excellent! We all need time at our "Happy Place."
Rosalinda...
I hope that you have a great vacation and actually get to RELAX! Thanks for the comment.
Bill...
I never even thought of that ...AR is my Happy place ...sometimes! lol
Hi Richard - I definitely spend a lot of time in my Happy Place -- it's a cold cruel world out there LOL!!Every time I do a Reality Check - most things haven't changed.
Enjoy your day in your "Happy Place" Richard!
Richard - We turned the news off a long time ago! Unfortunately, what is happening does not go away because we turn the television or radio off! I like how you have handled it today!
Mary
Rich... you disappoint me. You are much better when you rant and rave and "giv'em hell." But, alas I guess we all have to take a day off now and then and lay aside the sword. Come back tomorrow and I'm sure you'll discover fresh bees to buzz around in your bonnet to get your juices flowing.
Don Bush
Linda...
Capturing blue is one of my trademarks ... I'd tell you mt secrets but then, they wouldn't be secrets anymore! ;)
Connie...
That's a great idea and a lovely thing to say! Thanks for the nice comment.
Bo...
We ALL need to go there sometimes. Thanks, my friend!
Alan...
You've changes Elvises again. (or is it Elvi?) Sounds like a winner to me ... and apparently to Mel too! Thanks, my friend.
Carol...
That's the spirit! Were not listening! Thanks for jumping in!
Janice...
Kids just go to their 'Happy Meals!" lol
Richard, I agree with you 100%. I rarely watch the news and often don't like to read about the bad things in life.
Guess I was an ostrich in my former life...lol
Ommmmmm, what day is this anyway? You could always run away from your troubles and participate in the Boston Marathon tomorrow.
Richard, I've been feeling that way a lot lately - about the news and ActiveRain. LOL. I've gone back to CD's in my car and blogging on my community blogsite.
I'm grateful for AR but spend more time on Twitter for more learning. Love your happy place, and always enjoy reading your posts.
Is there room for me there?
