It's Easter Sunday 2009 and it's a beautiful morning in Newnan Georgia. I have always considered Easter to be a very special day, not only for the spiritual significance, but also as a day of reflection and renewal.
Springs brings about a change in our lifestyle. We emerge from hibernation in our cozy domiciles and venture outdoors, timidly at first, and then with a keen awareness that a new growing season has begun and there is plenty of work to do!
It's time to tend our awakening gardens, and then commence the annual struggle to get the lawn back in shape.
I am about to begin to prepare our holiday meal. I have departed from the traditional ham this year in favor of some barbequed baby back ribs with all of the trimmings. It will give me an opportunity to cook outside, and to simultaneously enjoy creation in all of it's glory!
I hope that you all have a splendid day! I know that I will!

Richard, Ribs on the grill sound delicious but my Dad sprang for beef tenderloin which we will also prepare on the grill...I can almost taste it already mmmm....
Richard: Baby back ribs?!! What time is dinner? :) I'm sure you'll have a great time. Our Easter celebration has kind of fizzled out over the years. Today it's just James and I. Maybe I can convince him to fire up our itty-bitty grill and at least do some chicken.
Baby back ribs huh? Hmm.... on my way.
Thank you for the thoughts today. I hope your meal is a success, your reflections on life stay with you thru the year, and you have a wonderful day today!
We had turkey cooked in the fryer outside. My husband froze his you know what off. I bet he wishes he was down south where we were suposed to be not up here in NY! Glad you had a good dinner. We enjoyed a quite time then had freinds over for dessert.
