Sometimes it's the little ones! As an example, consider the difference between the ways that sharks and piranha attack their prey:
Unlike the large carnivorous shark which can suddenly strike at any time and inflict some serious damage with a single bite, the piranha travels in large schools, and when feeding, depends on sheer numbers to subdue their larger and stronger victim
Often, we take the proper precautions when we face an enemy of significant proportion. We prepare ourselves to face the potential shark attacks that we could encounter in everyday life.
However, often we let the little apparently insignificant gnawing issues slip past our guard. Before we know it, all of these small problems en masse can completely consume us.
How do you beat a school of piranhas? One at a time!

Hi Richard, wow, interesting post! Hmm.. I was just wondering what prompted that? So, how was your day?
Richard, it isn't the shark that scares me. I'm Irish/Italian, dare ya! It's those piranaha that scare me to death. They find you when you least expect it. And, boy, they are nasty!!! I get the drift.......
Richard: This must be one of the pics from your aquariam outing. Love it! The message of this blog is so true. The small things that we ignore can really get at us. Small budget issues, for example, if not addressed, become bigger budget issues and may threaten our business or personal finances.
Richard,
My dad used to say that we never trip over giants, it is the midgets we miss and trip over. It is always the little stuff that gets us. Having a plan to step around them and avoid them is the key to success. Unl;ess of course you just plow over them :0 jk
Thanks
Bo
Hi Richard!

We do have a tendency to get boggled by our challenges, not realizing that if we deal with them individually, we can solve the problems. Thanks for the reminder!
Hi Andrea...
The post was inspired by the photo ... I just had to use it! ;)
Suzanne...
The are nasty little buggers, aren't they? lol
Chris Ann...
Yes, it is a photo from my weekend trip ... great stuff for blog posts! Thanks.
Hello Richard
Right on with this one. It's easy to see the elephant size issues and address them but it's the flea size issues that left unattended will eat your lunch. Take them on one at a time quickly moving like the school of piranhas and lunch is yours. Thanks for reminding us.
Mark
Bo...
Your dad was a very wise man! THX
Paula...
It's the "how do you eat an elephant" syndrome ... thanks for the comment!
Mark...
You are so right about that! Thanks very much for the nice comment.
The big stuff is too obvious to ignore, so we deal with it. But that little stuff ... it just floats around, annoys us, tries to occupy our time ... but we dismiss it and keep going. UNTIL. Until there are so many little things that now we are looking at a mutant 'big thing' that just won't be ignored. By that time we are so fragmented in our thinking we get flustered.
Great reminder to KISS.
That's right. Small but mighty!
Hi Richard,
Interesting post. I really enjoy the pictures in your posts; your quite the photographer.
Richard you are so right ....I think I am going to have a fish fry today and clean out all the little things I need to get done before they get me....peace zane
You are right, the small stuff can manifest...
Interesting post, made me think....love the photo!
Richard - I really hate it when I stumble upon a school of piranhas. Little things do add up. Thanks for an awareness update.
Richard...I was told by an elderly man years age that in business it's not the big things that will normally get you, it's the little things. Because they are just a thorn in your side, we try to brush them aside without really putting them to rest!
Richard,
Very clever comparison. I guess we shouldn't let the little ones get away!
Hey Richard,
Great analogy of everyday life! Like your photo as well.
Thank You, Very nice fish. I like it.
SO true! Well written!
